Over the past few months our lives have changed because of COVID-19, and so has our way of traveling. Now, it is essential to adopt security and prevention measures.
For this reason, and in order to continue travelling with peace of mind, all our tours have been modified by adopting different measures to guarantee the safety of all our travelers. In the case of Torres del Paine in particular, great efforts have been made to offer long-distance routes that include transport, accommodation with common areas and dormitories.
All of the park's accommodations have adopted practically the same measures because, although they are managed by different organizations, they all follow the recommendations and protocols of the Chilean health authority and the World Health Organization.
Below, we detail the main measures adopted to guarantee the safety of all travelers in transport, access to the park, campsites and accommodation along the route, both in rooms and in common areas.
Common route sections: In all areas where contact is maintained with other travelers it will be obligatory:
Staff: All staff have been trained to ensure the prevention of contagion, wear masks at all times and carry out constant disinfection.
Transport: The buses have been adapted with the following measures:
Early check-in: to avoid the exchange of documents and reduce check-in time, you will be asked for the necessary documentation a few days before the start of the route, thus leaving everything ready upon arrival. In case you have to check in upon arrival, you will avoid the manipulation of documents by the shelter staff.
Fixed check out: an exact time will be agreed upon for the check out to avoid overcrowding.
Accommodations:
On arrival at the accommodation, the necessary disinfection will be carried out:
