Glacier Grey from Puerto Natales

Our trek begins in Puerto Natales, where we will meet the guide and the rest of the group. Once we have picked up our trekking poles, we will board a van in the direction of Torres del Paine

Trekking Glacier Grey

Once we arrive at the Paine Grande lodge, we begin our trek to the Grey Glacier viewpoint. On the way we can observe the Paine Grande mountain, the Quebrada de los Vientos or the Grey Lake. We will continue walking until we reach the Mirador Lago Grey in Torres del Paine. The views and the pictures we will take will make the trip worthwhile. We will also take advantage of the stop to rest and have lunch before our return.

Return and catamaran through Pudeto

We continue with the Mirador Grey hike, but this time back along the same trail we have come. After walking 26 kilometers and arriving at Paine Grande, we board a catamaran through Pudeto until we reach our van that will take us back to where we started, where our  trekking to Mirador Glacier Grey will have come to an end.

Where does the tour Mirador Glacier Grey start

The tour starts in the city of Puerto Natales. If you are traveling from Santiago de Chile the best option is to take a flight to Punta Arenas, and from there you can take a bus that in only 3:15 hours will take you to the bus station in Puerto Natales or hire a private transportation service with us.

If you are traveling from El Calafate (Argentina), there are buses that connect directly to Puerto Natales in a 5 hour trip or you can book a private service with us.

  • Do I have to carry all my luggage to the trek?

    No, from Howlanders we recommend you to take only what you need for the trek and leave the rest of the luggage in the luggage room of your accommodation in Puerto Natales.
  • Do I have to bring any documents?

    Yes, it is very important that you carry your passport and the immigration card that you will be given when you enter Chile.
  • How difficult is the Mirador Glacier Grey hike?

    The difficulty of this trek is medium - high. We recommend having experience in mountain hikes and a good physical condition, as some trails can be more complicated.
  • What is the extra cost of the entrance fee to the Park and the catamaran?

    The round trip by catamaran has a cost of $50 USD, and the entrance fee to Torres del Paine National Park has a cost for foreigners of $34 USD. Both will be paid at the destination, so remember to bring cash.
