Questions & Answers

  • How many people are on the boat during whale watching?

The boats can take up to 200 passengers comfortably at once. They have several viewing platforms, cafeteria, Wi-Fi connection, toilets, extra waterproof overalls and even blankets.
  • When is the best time to see whales?

There is no right whale watching season, as they are abundant around the island all year round. Summer is when food is most abundant in the sea, and therefore the number of whales and dolphins increases. However, as they are wild animals, whale and dolphin sightings cannot be prepared for or guaranteed.
  • What happens if there are no sightings on my tour?

In case you do not see whales or dolphins, we do not refund the tour price. However, you will be provided with a ticket to try again another day that is valid for 2 years. Tickets are not transferable to other services, so we recommend you book early in your holiday so that you have the opportunity to come back another day if the sighting fails.
  • What is the exact meeting point?

At the time of booking, we will provide you with the exact meeting point at Akureyri harbor.
  • Is there a minimum age for taking the tour?

Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or have an authorization.
