Questions & Answers

  • How can altitude sickness affect me?

Not everyone is affected in the same way and for the same length of time. The most common symptoms are headache, difficulty breathing, nausea and weakness. Our recommendation is to rest as soon as you arrive in Puno, eat light meals and drink plenty of liquids.
  • What does the local food consist of?

The food will vary depending on availability and what they cook that day. Traditionally their diet is based on Andean potatoes, barley, green beans and quinoa.
