Salar de Uyuni sunrise

To go and see the Salar de Uyuni sunrise is an option for the brave because it requires a good early start. It is also true that it is the least crowded option because of course, not everyone dares to get out of bed at 3:00 in the morning to arrive on time and not lose detail of the moment. There is also the option of not getting into bed, so you avoid going out.

Once in the Salar de Uyuni, before the sun begins to appear behind the horizon, the soft blue and mauve colors flood the immensity of the landscape. As the sun appears, the sky and the mountains are tinged with orange and red. The silence of the early morning, accompanied by the intense colors of dawn is a perfect combination.

Salar de Uyuni sunset

This time there is no need to get up early because the Salar de Uyuni sunset takes place around 6:00 and 7:00 pm depending on the month. The atmosphere is impregnated with violet and pink. The horizon is blurred and it is practically impossible to distinguish the sky from the earth. Although it seems simple to capture the best photos of the Salar de Uyuni at this moment, do not expect them to reflect the essence of the moment.

Lights and shadows created by the sunset

Don’t know when to go to Uyuni Salt Flats yet? During the rainy season (January, February, and March) the sky is reflected in the salt desert and it generates a mirror effect. It’s impressive! Another good news is that you can enjoy it both at sunrise and sunset. Maybe we haven’t helped you decide between sunrise or sunset in the Salar de Uyuni, but we’ve tried.

Once our work is done it’s up to you to choose whether to see the Uyuni sunset or sunrise. Describing the spectacular nature of each landscape has been difficult, but the decision you have to make now is much more. As we said at the beginning we recommend you to see both one and the other, what do you think of the idea?
