Full-Day Tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier
Pick up in El Calafate
We’ll start our Full Day Tour of the Perito Moreno Glacier by picking you up in your accommodation in El Calafate at 10:30 a.m. Once the whole group is together, we’ll head to the Los Glaciares National Park. Let the adventure begin!
Los Glaciares National Park
Once we’re in the National Park we’ll go up to the Perito Moreno Glacier. During our walk, our guide will tell us all about the history and characteristics of the glacier, as well as about the park where it is located.
Perito Moreno Glacier
When we reach the first balcony in the walkways of the glacier, the guide will explain all the different possible paths we can take in front of a map so we can choose what path to walk first, on our own time.
🍴 Remember that we’ll spend lunchtime in the park. We recommend packing a picnic and enjoying it in the walkways in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier but, if you’d rather eat at a restaurant, there is one available in the park.
Boat ride (depending on the selected option)
If you have selected this option, you will take a transfer to Bajo las Sombras port where you will take the boat that will sail for an hour near the glacier wall, to get to know this iconic glacier even closer.
Back to El Calafate
All good things must come to an end. The guide will let you know what time you have to go back to the meeting point. Once we’re all together again, it’s time to say goodbye to the wonderful views of the Perito Moreno and take our private transport back to your accommodation. Where does the tour Full Day Tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier from El Calafate start
The city of El Calafate is located 3,000 km from Buenos Aires, and 325 km from the city of Río Gallegos, capital of the province of Santa Cruz. The airport has direct daily connections with Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Bariloche, Trelew, Cordoba and Rosario. Several airlines operate this route, being Aerolineas Argentinas the most frequent one. From Howlanders we also recommend you to check LADE airline.
If you want to arrive by land you can do it by bus. The trip between Buenos Aires and El Calafate takes about 36 hours. From Río Gallegos, the trip takes 4 hours. If you come from Puerto Natales we recommend you to take a bus that arrives to El Calafate in about five hours or hire a private service with us. Finally, if you are traveling from Ushuaia, please check the waiting times due to the crossing of the Strait of Magellan or stopover in Rio Gallegos.
