DAY 1 — Puerto Maldonado → Comfort Ecolodge

Pick-up in Puerto Maldonado
Your journey begins with pick-up from Puerto Maldonado Airport, the bus terminal, or your accommodation at the scheduled time. From there, you’ll travel by vehicle with your guide to Puerto Capitanía, where you’ll board a boat to reach the ecolodge.
You’ll then cruise along the Madre de Dios River for about 12 miles (20 km) — approximately 10 minutes by boat — enjoying your first views of the Amazon rainforest. The lodge is located on the riverbank, inside the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve.
Arrival at the Lodge & Lunch
Upon arrival, the lodge staff will welcome you with a refreshing drink. After check-in, you’ll receive a short briefing about your stay and planned activities.
Lunch will be served at the lodge, surrounded by the sounds and atmosphere of the rainforest.

Amazon Organic Farm Visit

Tambopata National Reserve & Sandoval Lake (Morning)

In the morning, you’ll travel by boat to the Tambopata National Reserve. From the landing point, you’ll begin a guided jungle hike of about 1.8 miles (3 km) through dense tropical vegetation until reaching the Sandoval Lake area.

Sandoval Lake Wildlife Experience
Once at Sandoval Lake — one of the most iconic locations in the Peruvian Amazon — you’ll explore the lake by paddle canoe, moving quietly through the vegetation to look for wildlife.
