Cancellation policy
Free cancellation! If you cancel at least 65 days before the start of the tour, you will receive 100% of the amount paid. If you cancel at least 44 days before the start of the tour, you will receive 75% of the amount paid. If you cancel at least 20 days before the start of the tour, you will receive 50% of the paid amount. After this time, or in case of no-show, no refunds will be given.
Tour itinerary
DAY 1 Puerto Maldonado - Lodge - Shiringuero Camp
Pick up and arrival in Puerto Maldonado
After being picked up at the airport, we will head to the pier at Puerto Bolivar to reach our lodge. The boat ride will last 40 minutes on the Madre de Dios River. Once we arrive at the lodge, we will leave our luggage in the bungalow and we will be served our first meal in the jungle.
Shiringuero Camp
At 15:30 we will leave the lodge to enjoy a walk through the jungle. The guide will show us the tropical trees and medicinal plants. We will visit a chestnut camp where Brazil nuts are cultivated. Then we will go to a shiringuero camp, a recreation of a real camp where we will see the artisanal process of latex collection.
Return to the lodge and free time
After the visit to the camp, we will return to the lodge to rest and relax in its facilities: a swim in the pool, a cocktail at the bar or a visit to the boutique. Get your strength back, the adventure continues!
Caiman Safari
Before dinner, we will take advantage of the sunset to take a boat ride and see caimans and other animals that live in the river. We will return to the lodge at 8:00 p.m., have dinner and enjoy the night.
DAY 2 Parrot Clay Lick - Traditional market - Puerto Maldonado
Parrot Clay Lick
Our second day will start early with a coffee at 05:30. Afterwards, we will take a 20 minute walk to the parrot clay lick, where we will observe up to 5 different species of parrots flying around us. Enjoy the colorful spectacle of their plumage!
Breakfast and rest
We will return to the lodge to have breakfast and get things ready before leaving for Puerto Maldonado. Then we will sail to the city and upon arrival we will be picked up by a minibus that will take us to a traditional market until it's time to end the 2 day tour of Puerto Maldonado.
