The Iquitos Jungle Trip Premium Lodge is the best option for travelers who want to go deep into the Amazon jungle without giving up comfort.
You will stay in an eco lodge located in the Yanamono Communal Reserve, 80 km (50 miles) from the city of Iquitos. A paradisiacal place to rest in total harmony with nature. The rooms are built in a rustic style, with high ceilings, panoramic windows, private bathroom, terrace with hammock and rocking chairs. They also have ceiling fans and mosquito nets.
The activities included in the tour are done in a small group (10 travelers) with a professional guide, perfect to meet other travelers but without altering the environment. But also if you want to do it privately, with a guide only for your group, you only have to include this extra when booking.

💡Electric light: there is a genset 3 times a day at meal times and at night until 10:00 pm (electricity 220 v).

If you cancel at least 15 days before the tour starts, you will receive 100% of the amount paid. If you cancel between 15 and 5 days before the tour starts, you will receive 70% of the amount paid. After this time, or in case of no-show, no refunds will be given.

DAY 1 Iquitos - Iquitos Jungle
Lodging: Heliconia Amazon River Lodge
Meals: Lunch and dinner
Pick up in Iquitos
Your guide will be waiting for you at the Iquitos airport or at your hotel in the city of Iquitos at 9:30 am. Then you will go to the office of the local agency located in the center of the city.
Transfer to the lodge
From there, you will travel by car to the Port of Iquitos where you will take a fast boat to the lodge in the Yanamono Communal Reserve. And your adventure in one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World will officially begin.
Iquitos Monkey Island
During the tour you will observe the "Wedding of the rivers", the exact point where the Nanay River and the Amazon converge. Before arriving at the lodge you will make a stop to visit the Monkey Island. A protected area where endangered species of monkeys of the Amazon are preserved.
Check-in at the lodge
You will continue the boat ride until you arrive at Heliconia Lodge, where you will be greeted with a refreshing drink of exotic fruits of the region. You will be assigned your room and you can go down to the dining room to enjoy your first Amazonian lunch.
Iquitos Jungle Walk
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided walk for approximately 2 hours, where in the company of the local guide you will identify various species of flora, birds such as the Turkey Vulture or the Black Fronted, and a family of small monkeys.
Free time at the lodge
After the walk, you will return to the lodge where you can relax in the hammocks on the banks of the Amazon, enjoy the swimming pool or simply lie down to read in the hammock in your room.
Night boat ride
At night, you will enjoy a magical open boat ride through one of the tributaries of the Amazon River. Be on the lookout for shooting stars, which are common in this area.
After this magical experience, you will return to the lodge to enjoy an exquisite dinner and rest in your private room.
DAY 2 Iquitos Jungle

Meals: Full board
Iquitos Bird watching
The second day of the tour will start early in the morning with a bird watching activity, accompanied by a specialized guide.
You will then return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious and replenishing breakfast.
Yaguas Community
After breakfast, you will visit the Yaguas community where you will learn about their culture, customs and traditions. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the use of the "Pucuna" (blowgun), a hunting instrument.
You will return to the lodge to enjoy lunch and take a short break.
Artisanal Fishing Expedition
In the afternoon, in the company of your guide, you will embark on an artisanal fishing expedition on one of the tributaries of the Amazon River. You will learn about artisanal fishing techniques and piranha fishing and you can take the fish back to the lodge to be prepared for dinner.
Pink dolphins
During this excursion you will have the perfect opportunity to see the pink river dolphins (Inia Geoffrensis). You will return to the lodge to enjoy dinner.
Night walk through the jungle
At night, dare to walk the perimeters of the lodge and witness the transformation of the jungle into a nocturnal environment. Witness the nocturnal wildlife that is so different from what you have encountered during the day. After this short walk of approximately 30 minutes, you will return to the lodge for a pleasant rest.
DAY 3 Iquitos Jungle - Iquitos
Meals: Breakfast and lunch
Yanamono Island - Victoria Regia
After breakfast, you will travel by boat to a lake on Yanamono Island. Here you will admire the majestic Victoria Regia, queen of the water lilies in all its splendor.
Lunch - Transfer to Iquitos
You will return to the lodge for lunch, pick up your luggage and at 13:30 you will head to Iquitos in the speed boat with your guide. You will be able to choose the place where you want the transport to take you. Either to your accommodation in the city of Iquitos or to the airport to take your flight back.

Where does the tour Iquitos Jungle Trip Premium Lodge start
The most comfortable and safe way to reach Iquitos is by plane since it is not connected to the road-network of the rest of the country. The majority of travelers arrive from Lima, where several airlines operate. Latam airline, however, is the only one that offers direct flights between Cusco and Iquitos.

What if my flight arrives later than 9:30 a.m.?
If you cannot take the 9:30 am boat, there is another departure available for the flight that arrives from Cusco at 10:40 am After this time, it is possible to take the boat until 3:00 pm, but it has an extra cost.
Which flight is recommended?
We recommend taking a Lima-Iquitos flight arriving before 9:00 am and an Iquitos-Lima flight departing after 5:30 pm. In case of arriving or departing at other times, please consult with us.
When is the best time to visit the Iquitos Jungle?
Any time of the year is good to enjoy the Iquitos Amazon, but it is important to know that between the months of December to May is the rainy season.What is the weather like?
