Uyuni Salt Flats Tour

Of the tours in Uyuni, the most requested by our travelers is undoubtedly the Uyuni Salt Flats tour. This is the largest salt flat in the world that can even be seen from space.

With Howlanders, you can book a Uyuni Salt Flats tour adapted to your needs. Why? Because you have many options to choose from:

  • Visit in one day
  • In two days and one night
  • In 3 days
  • Privately or in a group
  • Go to see the sunrise
  • Go to see the sunset

It is one of the most visited places in Latin America and no wonder. The impressive mirror effect in the Salar de Uyuni that happens at certain times of the year, leaves a view difficult to forget for any traveler. In addition, the game of perspective will allow you to return home with the most original photos you can imagine (you'll understand what we mean when you go! 😉 ).

When to visit the Uyuni Salt Flat

When planning any of our tours in Uyuni, it is important to know when to travel. You should know that actually, any time of the year is good because the place is amazing, and depending on the season you will be able to see it in one way or another.

If you are looking for the mirror effect, the best month is April, since rainfall is limited. Just enough to generate this visual effect but not too much for you to enjoy your Uyuni Salt Flats tour. If you prefer good weather, it is best to go between September and November. And if you want to visit the wet Salar de Uyuni, do it between December and April.

How to get to Uyuni

The most comfortable option to enjoy the tours in Uyuni is to take a plane from La Paz to Uyuni. If you decide to make this trip by bus, the journey takes between 12 and 15 hours.

If you travel from Potosi, the bus ride is 7 hours and there are daily departures 🚌. If you travel from Oruro, the bus ride takes 4 hours.

Although if you allow us a Howlanders tip, it is best to look at the combination that best suits your needs. Maybe first by plane to the nearest city and then by bus to Uyuni is the best option for you, it all depends on where you are coming from!
