Cancellation policy
- If you cancel at least 12 days before the start of the tour, you will receive a refund of 85% of the amount paid.
- If you cancel between 11 and 7 days before the start of the tour you will receive a refund of 80% of the total cost.
- If you cancel between 6 and 2 days before the start of the tour you will receive a refund of 50% of the total cost.
After this time or in case of not doing the activity, no refund will be made.

Tour itinerary
DAY 1 Boat ride to Madidi National Park
Lodging: Ecolodge in Madidi
Pick up and boat trip on the Beni and Tuichi rivers.
After meeting the group around 8:30 a.m., we’ll begin a 3-hour boat trip along the Beni and Tuichi rivers, with incredible views as we make our way deep into Madidi National Park.

Jungle walk
In the afternoon, we’ll explore an eco-trail through the rainforest. A local guide will teach us about medicinal plants, traditional Amazonian craftsmanship, and native construction techniques. Along the way, we’ll look out for monkeys, wild boars, colorful birds, and a wide variety of insects.
We’ll return to the lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

DAY 2 Monumental Trees - Farallón de las Parabas - Rafting

Farallon de las Parabas
After breakfast, we’ll set out on a 3-hour hike through lush jungle terrain. We’ll walk among towering trees and arrive at the breathtaking Farallón de las Parabas, a rocky cliff home to macaws, parrots, and other exotic birds—with panoramic views of the Amazon basin and its rivers.

🛶 Rafting and traditional activities.
After lunch, we’ll build a traditional wooden raft and float down the Tuichi River for about 2 hours (or opt for a motorboat if you prefer).
In the afternoon, choose between sport fishing or joining a local handicraft workshop before enjoying dinner at the lodge.

DAY 3 Transfer to lodge in Pampas Yacuma and pink dolphins

Transfer to the lodge in Santa Rosa
We’ll rise early for breakfast, then begin the journey back to Rurrenabaque, arriving around 8:30 a.m. From there, a vehicle will take us to Santa Rosa, passing through landscapes where we might spot sloths, anteaters, toucans, and more.

Yacuma River and pink dolphins
Around midday, we’ll take a 20-minute boat ride to the ecolodge in the Pampas del Yacuma. After settling in and having lunch, we’ll go on a relaxing boat excursion along the Yacuma River, where we’ll see caimans, lizards, turtles, capybaras, and a wide range of birds.
One of the highlights: visiting a spot to see and swim near pink river dolphins.

DAY 4 Sunrise in the jungle and return

We’ll wake early to witness the Amazon come alive at sunrise, as howler monkeys and birds fill the air with their morning chorus. This peaceful river journey is one of the most unforgettable moments of the tour.

🐍 Search for the Anaconda & Return
After breakfast, we’ll navigate to a trail-rich area ideal for spotting the elusive anaconda and continuing wildlife watching.
Following lunch at the lodge, we’ll begin our return journey to Rurrenabaque, marking the end of an incredible adventure through the Bolivian jungle.

✈️ Getting to Rurrenabaque from La Paz – By Plane
The fastest and most comfortable way to reach Rurrenabaque is by air. Ecojet Airlines operates 25-minute flights from La Paz on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 8:30 a.m.
🚌 By Land – Bus from La Paz
If the flight schedule doesn’t work for you, you can also travel by bus. The journey takes 12 to 15 hours (approx. 440 km) and is a budget-friendly option for travelers with more time.
We recommend Flota Yungueña for its comfort and safety. Buses depart daily from 3:00 p.m., but tickets must be purchased in person at their office in La Paz.

What happens if I arrive hours before the tour starts or my return bus leaves hours after the tour ends?
No worries! Howlanders travelers have access to designated rest areas at the lodge, including showers, hammocks, and beds to relax while you wait. Breakfast is also included during these waiting periods. This service depends on your arrival or departure time and is available as long as flight schedules are irregular.
What kind of food is offered during the tour?
You’ll enjoy delicious, varied, and nutritious meals at the eco-lodges. Our menus include typical Bolivian dishes alongside national and international options made with fresh, organic ingredients sourced from local communities. Expect rice, vegetables, meats, fish, chicken, fruits, and traditional recipes like dunucuabi (fish wrapped in leaves), fish in tacuara, majadito, masaco, and sonso.

You will spend three nights at two different eco-lodges:

What is the lodging like in Madidi Park?
The Madidi lodge is nestled deep in the tropical rainforest, about two and a half hours by boat from Rurrenabaque. It features 9 cabins built in traditional Amazonian style, accommodating up to 25 guests. Rooms can be double, triple, or shared with up to five beds and have private or shared bathrooms. Each room includes mosquito nets, towels, biodegradable soap, toilet paper, and bedside tables. Hammocks are also available to relax after hikes.
What is the lodging like in the Pampas del Yacuma?
Located about 2.5 hours by car and 20 minutes by boat from Rurrenabaque, this lodge has 14 rustic, turtle-shaped cabins made with regional materials. It accommodates 32 guests in double, triple, or family rooms, all with private bathrooms and hot showers. Rooms come with mosquito nets, towels, biodegradable soap, and basic furniture. The lodge also features a dining room with river views, an event lounge, and a hammock area.
Do eco lodges have electricity and hot water?
Yes, both lodges provide basic electricity (usually via solar panels or generators) at scheduled times and hot water showers. Due to their remote locations, we ask guests to use these resources responsibly.
Is there a cellular or Wi-Fi signal in the accommodations?
There is no cellular or Wi-Fi coverage inside the lodges. The Madidi lodge offers radio communication three times a day. In the Pampas area, local SIM cards (e.g., Entel) may provide weak and intermittent cell service. Wi-Fi is only available at the Rurrenabaque office before or after your tour.
What kind of weather can I expect during the tour?
The climate is tropical, with average temperatures around 32 °C (86 °F), ranging from 20 °C (68 °F) to 35 °C (95 °F). Humidity is high year-round, especially in the rainy season. From June to August, cold fronts (“surazos”) may bring temperatures down to 10–12 °C (50–54 °F), along with humidity and fog. We recommend packing light clothing for the heat plus some warm layers for cool nights or unexpected weather changes.
Can I leave my large suitcases at the office during the tour?
Yes, in our office in Rurrenabaque we have a safe space to store large backpacks or suitcases while you take the tour.
