Tour itinerary

DAY 1 Boat ride - Madidi National Park

8 : 30 AM

Pick up and navigate through Beni and Tuichi.

We will start the tour at 8:30 AM. heading to the community, where we will learn about the way of life in the jungle. During the boat trip on the Beni and Tuichi rivers, we will enjoy spectacular landscapes such as the Bala canyon. Around noon, we will arrive at our Eco lodge.

In the afternoon we will have a hike through the trails designed to observe wild animals such as monkeys, wild boars, birds, and many insects. We will learn all about the nature of the place, its fauna and flora.

DAY 2 Camping in the rainforest - Hike

7 : 30 AM

Camping in the Amazon

We have breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and we will pack our backpacks, sleeping bag, mat, and mosquito net to spend a night camping in the jungle. We will walk for about 4 hours until we reach our refuge, where we will have lunch and time to rest.

Hike to the mountain of the birds

In the early afternoon, we will take a hike to the mountain where spectacular native bird species such as macaws and parrots nest. From there we will be able to observe these colorful birds, the unique landscape of the forest and the impressive sunset.

Night hike

At night, we will have the possibility to take a short hike in search of armadillos, snakes, night monkeys, tapirs, nocturnal birds, etc. During the night, it is possible to hear the characteristic roar of the jaguar.

DAY 3 Navigation on the Tuichi River - Eco Lodge

5 : 00 AM

Hike around the lodge

We will wake up at 5:00 a.m. to take a short hike around the lodge and enjoy the concerts of howler monkeys and birds that welcome the new day.

Tuichi River Boat Ride

At the Tuichi River, where we will build a raft made of logs like those of the indigenous people of the Amazon. With that raft or a normal boat if you prefer, we will descend the river. We will have lunch at the Eco Lodge and in the afternoon the guide will propose some group activities.

DAY 4 Transfer to the Lodge in Santa Rosa - Las Pampas and pink dolphins

6 : 00 AM

Drive to Santa Rosa

We will wake up at 6:00 a.m. for breakfast, and then we will set off to Rurrenabaque, from where we will depart to Santa Rosa. During the trip we will be able to observe anteaters, sloths, and toucans among other animals. Around noon and after a short boat ride, we will arrive at our Eco Lodge, check in and have lunch.

Yacuma River and Pink Dolphins

After a well-deserved rest we will take a boat ride on the Yacuma River to observe lizards, caimans, birds, and turtles among others. Before returning to the lodge and depending on the time of the year, we will have the opportunity to swim with pink dolphins.

DAY 5 Sunrise in the Jungle - Searching the Anaconda - Rurrenabaque

5 : 00 AM

We will wake up at 5:00 a.m. to enjoy a unique sunrise and listen to the awakening of the Pampa, a concert of bird sounds and howler monkeys. At the end of the sunrise, we will have breakfast and go out again by boat on the Yacuma River.

In search of the Anaconda and return

We go back into the jungle in search of the impressive anaconda. During the tour we will observe birds, capybaras, caimans and turtles, among other beautiful animals. In the afternoon, after lunch, our transportation will take us to Rurrenabaque where we will put an end to our Rurrenabaque Bolivia Amazon 5-Day Tour.

Where does the tour Rurrenabaque Bolivia Amazon 5-Day start

⭐ The tour includes pick-up at the airport or the city of Rurrenabaque upon arrival and transfer to the lodge. As well as transfer back from the lodge to the same points at the end of the tour.

✈ The fastest and most comfortable way to get to Rurrenabaque is by plane from the city of La Paz. The flight takes 25 minutes and is operated by Ecojet Airlines on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 8:30 am. 

🚌 If the flight schedules do not fit into your travel itinerary, you can also reach Rurrenabaque from La Paz by bus. The overland trip takes approximately 12-15 hours (440 km). We recommend the Flota Yungueña bus company for comfort and safety, although you will need to go to their office to purchase a ticket. These buses leave daily from 03:00 PM.

    Yes! During meals, you will be able to choose from several options, and at least one will always be vegan and vegetarian.
  • Is it safe to do a tour in the Amazon rainforest?

    Our guides are local professionals, if you keep on following their directions and stay on the trails you shouldn't have any problems.
  • What happens if I arrive hours before the tour starts or my return bus leaves hours after the tour ends?

    Don't worry. Howlanders travelers can access some areas of the lodge such as showers, hammocks or beds to rest until the tour begins. You will also have breakfast included to wait until you start your adventure. *This condition depends on your arrival or departure time and will be available until flights resume normal operations.
