Pick-up in Uyuni - Train Cemetery The 2 days and 1 night tour to the Uyuni Salt Flats will start with your pick up in Uyuni. We will pick you up at your hotel, at the airport, or at the bus station if you choose this transport to get to Uyuni from La Paz. With all the group gathered, we will leave in the 7 seat 4x4 to the first stop: the train cemetery. A landscape formed by the remains of what one day was a symbol of the Bolivian development. Remember that in the 4x4 you will travel a maximum of 4 travelers plus the driver. If you prefer, you can also select the modality of Private tour and enjoy this adventure without sharing the vehicle with other travellers.

Colchani - Salt refinery We will continue the 2 days trip through the Uyuni Salt Flats until our next stop: Colchani. A small Andean town where we will observe the manual process of the salt in its refinery and visit the Salt Museum. Take advantage of this stop and discover their local handicrafts in the small stores run by the local villagers.

Salt Hotel - Playa Blanca Museum Buckle up, our 2-day and 1-night tour of the Uyuni Salt Flats goes on. Access to Incahuasi Island costs 30 Bolivian pesos for foreign travelers and 15 Bolivian pesos for national travelers. What to bring to Uyuni Salt Flats 2 Days 1 Night

When preparing your backpack, remember that the rainy season in the Salar de Uyuni goes from mid-December to March. And that the winter months (between May and August) are especially cold. Bearing this in mind, we recommend you to take to the Salar de Uyuni:
  • Passport
  • Warm clothing
  • Raincoat (between December and March)
  • Sunglasses
  • Comfortable shoes (if possible hiking boots)
  • Sunscreen and lip balm
  • Personal hygiene articles and medication
  • Cash for possible additional expenses
  • Camera (the Uyuni Sal Flats are an opportunity for photography lovers)
  • Medication against altitude sickness (if you deem them necessary)

Where does the tour Uyuni Salt Flats 2 Days 1 Night start

If your starting point is La Paz you can get to Uyuni by plane or by bus. The plane trip is operated by Amaszonas and Boa airlines. In the case of the bus trip, we recommend taking the night tourist bus that leaves La Paz at 8:00 p.m. with the company TransOmar. This bus has more comfortable seats and an option with a bed so you can sleep during the trip. You will arrive in Uyuni at 6:00 a.m. and have time for breakfast before starting the tour.
