This tour has an age restriction: travelers under 16 and over 65 years old are not allowed to take the tour. People weighing more than 100 kilos are not allowed to participate.

Kayak's activity in the Grey Glacier is a must if you want to know in the most exciting way the glacier. For about two and a half hours you will row with your group around the glacier making a route led by your bilingual guide. He will explain to you the curiosities of the Torres del Paine National Park and the Grey Glacier.
This is how your experience will be like:
The activity starts at the Grey Base Camp which you can reach from different points. Many of the travelers who decide to do the kayak, spend the night at the camp to do the activity the next day. If you are not in the park, you can take the private transfer that is offered as an extra.
Another option is to get to Lago Grey Hotel on your own and cross the lake with the second boat, with check in at 12:00 p.m. and check out at 1:00 p.m. With this, you will be able to do the kayak at 2:00 p.m. and once you have finished the navigation, you will return to the hotel at 5:45 p.m.
Once you have arrived at Grey Base Camp, your guide will be waiting for you to give you an introductory safety briefing. He will explain: what is the best way to paddle, how to act depending on each situation that may arise, the route to follow, the weather conditions of that day.
In addition, you will be given all the equipment, neoprene suit and boots, waterproof jacket, helmet, skirt, life jacket and a paddle with built-in gloves. Everything is ready to paddle, get your arms ready, we're starting!
Start the navigation guided by the guide, paddling among the detached icebergs in the bay. You'll be heading for the east face of the glacier, getting to be 100 meters away from the walls of the Grey Glacier, admiring its immensity. Did you know that they can reach up to 30 meters in height?
The return to the camp, we will do it by the same route, but this time in opposite direction. Thus completing a complete route of about 6 kilometers of paddling between icebergs. Half a day full of adrenaline in front of the majestic view of the wall of the centenary glacier. Have you thought about where you are going to take your best picture?
If the weather conditions allow it, you will make a small stop in the moraine of the glacier, an island of rocks discovered due to the thaw. There, you will walk to a viewpoint where you will see the glacier from another point and the icebergs that have fallen off. At that point, you will have a hot drink and a snack to replenish your strength for the return and end up with this unique experience.
The Glacier Grey Kayak tour starts at Grey Base Camp, located in Torres del Paine National Park. Many travelers take advantage of this activity while visiting the park.
