Arrival at Grey Base Camp

The activity starts at the Grey Base Camp which you can reach from different points. Many of the travelers who decide to do the kayak, spend the night at the camp to do the activity the next day. If you are not in the park, you can take the private transfer that is offered as an extra.

Grey Base Camp Torres del Paine

Another option is to get to Lago Grey Hotel on your own and cross the lake with the second boat, with check in at 12:00 p.m. and check out at 1:00 p.m. With this, you will be able to do the kayak at 2:00 p.m. and once you have finished the navigation, you will return to the hotel at 5:45 p.m.

Inductive talking - Briefing

Once you have arrived at Grey Base Camp, your guide will be waiting for you to give you an introductory safety briefing. He will explain: what is the best way to paddle, how to act depending on each situation that may arise, the route to follow, the weather conditions of that day.

Let's navigate among the ice floes!

Start the navigation guided by the guide, paddling among the detached icebergs in the bay. You'll be heading for the east face of the glacier, getting to be 100 meters away from the walls of the Grey Glacier, admiring its immensity. Did you know that they can reach up to 30 meters in height?

Regress to Grey Base Camp

The return to the camp, we will do it by the same route, but this time in opposite direction. Thus completing a complete route of about 6 kilometers of paddling between icebergs. Half a day full of adrenaline in front of the majestic view of the wall of the centenary glacier. Have you thought about where you are going to take your best picture?

Moraine of the glacier

If the weather conditions allow it, you will make a small stop in the moraine of the glacier, an island of rocks discovered due to the thaw. There, you will walk to a viewpoint where you will see the glacier from another point and the icebergs that have fallen off. At that point, you will have a hot drink and a snack to replenish your strength for the return and end up with this unique experience.

Fantástica experiencia! Hicimos la actividad en diciembre, y pudimos disfrutar de un túnel natural que se había formado recientemente y atraversarlo en kayak, ¡fue genial! Los guías fueron fantásticos. Mickey estuvo genial en toda la excursión.

We hired the Kayak in Grey, it was the best thing we could have done in Torres Park. The two excellent guides were very cool and very professional. I would go back to Torres del Paine just to do the Grey Glacier excursion again!
