In case of children under 8 years of age, it will be mandatory to hire a private guide.
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation! If you cancel at least 65 days before the start of the tour, you will receive 100% of the amount paid. If you cancel at least 44 days before the start of the tour, you will receive 75% of the amount paid. If you cancel at least 20 days before the start of the tour, you will receive 50% of the paid amount. After this time, or in case of no-show, no refunds will be given.
Tour itinerary
DAY 1 Puerto Maldonado - Lodge - Shiringuero Camp - Caiman Safari
Pick up and arrival in Puerto Maldonado
After being picked up at the airport, we will head to the pier at Puerto Bolivar to reach our lodge. The boat ride will last 40 minutes on the Madre de Dios River. Once we arrive at the lodge, we will leave our luggage in the bungalow and we will be served lunch. We will also have time to explore the complex and rest before the first activity.

Shiringuero Camp
Our first stop will be a chestnut camp where Brazil nuts are grown. Next, we will go to a shiringuero camp, a recreation of a real camp where we will see the artisanal process of collecting jebe (better known as latex). In total we will walk for two hours.

Return to the lodge
After the visit, we will return to the lodge to rest and have free time to relax. We can choose to swim in the pool, relax on the terrace of the room, visit the souvenir store or admire the sunset on the banks of the river. In any case, gather your strength, the adventure continues!

Caiman Safari
Before dinner, we will take advantage of the sunset to take a boat ride and see caimans and other animals that live in the river. We will return to the lodge at 8:00 p.m., have dinner and enjoy the night.

DAY 2 Sandoval Lake - Tambopata National Reserve

Today the day starts early, at 5:30 in the morning we will have a coffee to start the day and we will head to Sandoval Lake in a boat for 20 minutes. The guide will give us a bag with breakfast that we can enjoy during the excursion.
The adventure begins! We will get off the boat and start trekking through the lush vegetation of the Amazon rainforest. After 3 km of route, we will enter the Tambopata National Reserve.

Later, we will navigate in small paddle boats on the Sandoval Lake in search of giant otters. We will observe a great variety of animals in their natural habitat and enjoy our breakfast.
After the navigation on the river, we will return to the pier to return to the lodge and enjoy lunch.

Bird watching
After lunch, we will climb one of the observation towers to get a better view of the birds of the area and appreciate the wonderful views of the sunset in the jungle. Afterwards we will have free time to enjoy the swimming pool and the rest of the facilities.

Dinner at the lodge
Dinner will be served at the lodge and afterwards, we will be able to chat, have a drink at the bar and enjoy the night in the jungle. It is time to rest after such an intense day.

Day 3 Machiguenga native family - Visit to a Chacra
Encounter with a native Machiguenga family
This day we will wake up calmly and enjoy a delicious breakfast at 08:00 in the morning.
At 09:00 a Machiguenga native family will welcome us and introduce us to their traditions, customs and way of life as well as their language and hunting crafts.

Visit to a Chacra
Our 4-day tour in Puerto Maldonado will continue with a 20-minute boat ride on the river. At 11:00 we will arrive at a plot of land cared for by a local family, known as a Chacra.
Here we will enjoy the incredible fresh taste of tropical fruits and other native products such as cocoa, banana, tree bread, cassava or lime.
At 13:00 we will return to the lodge to enjoy lunch.

Free time and dinner
We will have the afternoon free to relax and enjoy the last hours in paradise. We will take the opportunity to visit the boutique, cool off in the pool or have a cocktail at the bar. At 08:00 we will be served our farewell dinner in the dining room.

DAY 4 Parrots Clay Lick

The last day will start early with a coffee at 05:30. Afterwards we will take a 20 minute walk to the parrot clay lick. Here we will observe up to 5 different species of parrots flying around us, enjoy the colorful spectacle of their plumage!

Breakfast and return to Puerto Maldonado
We will return to the lodge to have breakfast and get ready before leaving for Puerto Maldonado. Then we will sail to the city and upon arrival we will be picked up by a minibus that will take us to a traditional market where we can buy local products. After 20 minutes in the market, we will finish our 4 day tour Puerto Maldonado.
