Great trek - well-organized, terrific guide (Eddie) who was very conscientious of those of us on the trek, particularly me (some 30+ years older than the others on the trek). Eddie (the tour guide) was very knowledgeable with respect to Inca, history, culture, and impact providing context and backgrounnd for our trek. I was quite pleased with the accommodations at each campsite - the cabins were comfVortable and well-maintained; the sleeping bags were fresh and clean.  Solid meals.  Trekking pace that worked for all of us on the Salkantay Trek.

Fue una experiencia fantástica. La caminata es dura pero se hace más fácil al compartirla con un grupo reducido con el que se va cogiendo cada vez más confianza.
Los campamentos están bastante bien y las comidas superaron todas nuestras expectativas. El guía, Vidal, es el mejor.
Es una experiencia única y muy recomendable.
El turoperador local, en comparación con otros, parece muy serio y fiable. Sin embargoo, me gustaria resaltar que por lo general las empresas locales deberían mejorar las condiciones laborales de los guías: hacen una labor agotadora física y mentalmente y no les cubren los gastos de los autobuses ni trenes de vuelta a Cusco.

The tour was amazing; we went to magical places. I had never done a trek like this before, so it was a bit challenging, not to mention that we had rain for 4 days. Yet, I would recommend the tour to anyone, as we could walk at our own pace, whether it was fast or slow. In the worst-case scenario, you can always skip a day of hiking by taking a horse (120 soles) or a taxi (around 20-30 soles) for some extra money.

Vidal was an amazing tour guide who took care of us and made sure that we always felt comfortable, going above and beyond.

I would definitely recommend bringing at least 2 good pairs of shoes and blister tape to be able to do the 5 days of hiking without any issues.

I would also like to mention the importance of bringing hand washing soap and toilet paper, as 99% of the places don't have any. Also, ATMs will be available on the last day only, so make sure to bring some cash with you, approximately 200-300 soles.

Overall, we had an amazing group, and I would encourage anyone to do the trek.

Der Trip war sehr schön und atemberaubend. Besonders der Führer Carlos war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und hat zu jeder Zeit mit seiner humorvollen Art,  Sicherheit ausgestrahlt. Mit diesem Führer würde ich jederzeit wieder eine Reises buchen.

Our tour was awesome, our guide Willy knowed how to motivate us during the long walks. The lodges were much better than expected and the 2 chefs of the kitchen make the best food ever (veggies will live it too!). Additionally the weather was the best we could have and the Machu Picchu at the end was a spectacular highlight, although it was much harder than we thought (especially Machu Picchu Mountain). We loved it and never forget this amazing hike!

This trip was absolutely stunning! It's perfect for those who love adventure and want to push themselves to new limits. I had wanted to do something like this type of trip for years and was worried about traveling alone. I'm so glad I did it, I was able to make new friends from all over the world and experience Salkantay in a new way. Also Howlanders really helped with any questions I had throughout the preparation of the trip. I would recommend to any adventurer like myself.

Tour duro si nunca has hecho ningún tipo de trek o rutas. Pero merece la pena el cansancio por ver todas las vistas. Las paradas se nos hacían cortas de lo bonitas que eran. Lo único negativo es que el tercer día que dormíamos en Santa Teresa llegamos más tarde de los esperado a la ciudad por lo que dormimos muy poco y tuvimos mucho cansancio al día siguiente. Muchas gracias por toda la atención a Howlanders fuimos bastante pesados con toda la organización!
