Crossing the Manso River and arrival at Pampa Linda

We’ll take a scenic detour across the Manso River, where the road narrows and begins to wind through forested terrain. The route follows the upper valley of the Manso River, offering stunning views of its emerald waters and lush Patagonian forest.

Our first stop is Pampa Linda, a peaceful spot at the base of Mount Tronador. Here, we’ll pause to take in the scenery and learn about the unique flora, fauna, and geography of Nahuel Huapi National Park. It’s the perfect moment to snap unforgettable photos and breathe in the fresh mountain air.

Pampa Linda also has a small mountain restaurant (cash only), or you can enjoy a picnic if you’ve brought your own lunch. It’s a great place to stretch your legs and take a short walk along nearby trails.

Road to Ventisquero Negro

We’ll continue climbing along a narrow mountain road to reach the Ventisquero Negro viewpoint. This striking glacier flows down from Cerro Tronador, and its dark, sediment-rich ice gives it an unusual black appearance—one of the most unique sights in the region.

The Devil's Waterfall

Before we begin the journey back, we’ll take a short 20-minute walk to the Devil’s Waterfall (La Cascada del Diablo) — a powerful cascade surrounded by dense vegetation and a jungle-like atmosphere. The sound of the falling water and the energy of the place bring the day to a magical and natural close. It’s the perfect spot to relax and connect with nature before heading back.

Return to Bariloche

After exploring the area and soaking in the views, we’ll begin our drive back to Bariloche. The return journey offers new perspectives, especially with the afternoon light casting a golden glow on the landscape.
