We love the hike, organization good and well done. The accommodation and bathrooms should be improved for a private tour. Do not give lollipops for lunch while the hikers do not have the discipline to take the waste with them!!!

all was ok ; we should have been two persons and paid for that ; we were three and discovered it the day we left; the guide José was fine 

There are few words to describe the adventure that my three friends and I had on the Ciudad Perdida 3 day trek with Magic Tours. First off, the trek would not have been much without the amazing experience, wisdom, and guidance of our guide Stiwen Pastor Cristancho, and the amazing cook Carmen (not sure her last name).  Both Stiwen and Carmen went above and beyond all of our expectations and were not only generous and personable but extremely responsive to any of our needs. I cannot say enough about how grateful we are for both of them. 

Now, onto the trek. I misread the site when it said that you had to hike the first day to camp. I had convinced my friends that we'd get to chill in the local village until early the next morning when we'd head out. Instead, after an extremely delicious lunch at the starting point, we packed up our bags and started the climb. We are all in decent shape but man did the first day really kick our behinds. The hot sun and sand of the uphill climb was tough. I am not sure if I ever sweat so much in my life. Luckily there are tons of stops along the way to catch your breath, grab some shade, and refill on liquids. At several stops, local fresh watermelon, oranges, and pineapples were all at the ready to help replenish our energy. The night at the first camp was fun and reminiscent of sleep away camp of our youths. 

Day 2 was the longest but most exciting. It includes the highest elevation climb, so most groups slept at the last camp on the trek. We hit the jackpot though and were told by our guide that we have an opportunity to sleep at the summit of Ciudad Perdida. At first the thought of additional hiking was intimidating but we couldn't let the experience pass us by. The guide and chef carried all the food and required equipment and I'm not sure how they did it. The steps to Ciudad Perdida were excruciatingly steep and with the incoming rain (you're in the jungle) they were slippery. While we did our best to just stay on the stairs, Stiwen and Carmen made it look effortless. After a delicious meal and some good laughs, it was time for sleep. Although the accommodations were far far far from glamorous, the beds were comfortable enough and the experience unmatched. 

Sunrise on the summit of Ciudad Perdida was something we'll never forget. It felt really grounding and humbling. Stiwen shared much information about the origins, past, and present efforts of the local indigenous peoples. His knowledge of the sacred site was impressive and he happily answered any questions that arose (I had a lot of them :) )

The hike down was difficult and we took our time, with any injuries being quickly attended to by Stiwen. Luckily we didn't have far to hike and got a good rest for the last day. The last day was also long from the second camp to the starting point but we were still coming down from the high of the trek and the appreciation for this amazing adventure. When we got back to the starting point we were once again fed a delicious Colombian meal to send us on our way. After expressing our gratitude to both Stiwen and Carmen we loaded up our luggage and headed to our next destination. 

Jhon from the sales team at Magic Tours had arranged for their driver to take us directly to our next destination which was also extremely appreciated and really capped off our amazing experience. 

If you are thinking about doing this hike, do yourself a favour and go with Magic Tours. If you are lucky enough maybe you will get to do it with Stiwen and have Carmen cook for you. We will remember this for the rest of our lives.

Tour was good.. tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable, however his english was very limited.
we did ask for and paid for an English speaking tour guide .. so was a little disappointed.

Also seemed to be a little confusion at the end of the tour on our transportation from the site.. 
especially when you are exhausted and tired and just want yo get back to your hotel.  was a few hiccups at the end.

other than that was a good tour
