Questions & Answers

  • Can I choose which hotel to stay at?

Yes. You can tell us your preferred hotel within the category you’ve booked. We’ll do our best to confirm your selected option, or otherwise assign the best available hotel in the same category.

  • What hotels are included in each category of the Galapagos 5 days 4 nights tour?

    • Tourist Class

Galapagos Native, Pelican Bay, Fernandina (Standard)

Tourist class hotels in Galapagos have basic services and a simpler style, which may not meet certain comfort levels expected by some travelers.

    • Superior Class

    Fiesta Hotel, Villa Laguna

    • First Class

Mockingbird, La Isla Hotel, Isla Sol

    • Luxury / De Luxe Hotel

    Angermeyer (Superior), Finch Bay

  • Which hotel category is best for me if I am traveling with infants or have special needs?

We recommend choosing the Superior category or higher. These hotels typically offer larger rooms, better infrastructure, and a higher level of service—ideal for travelers with children, seniors, or anyone with mobility or accessibility concerns.

  • What is the difference between a dry and a wet landing?

    • Dry landing

The vessel approaches the coast and disembarks directly on dry land, without the need to get wet. There are no piers built, so it is necessary to have some agility. This type of disembarkation is not recommended for people with reduced mobility.

    • Wet landing

The boat stops in shallow water near the beach. In this case, you will have to go down into the water and walk to the shore, carrying your footwear in your hand. For comfort, it is advisable to wear shorts and easy-to-remove sandals.

  • What is the best time of the year to visit Galapagos?

The Galapagos Islands are a year-round destination, and each season offers something different:

January to April – Warm and humid season

Expect hot sunny days, occasional rain showers, and warm ocean waters—ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

May to December – Cool and dry season

Cooler air temperatures, occasional mist or fog, and lower ocean temperatures due to the Humboldt Current. This season is great for hiking, wildlife spotting, and more temperate weather.

  • Is the water cold at any time of the year in the Galapagos Islands?

Yes. From May to December, the Humboldt Current brings colder waters. If you plan to snorkel during these months, we recommend renting a wetsuit in Puerto Ayora. Even during the warm season, a wetsuit is a good option if you’re sensitive to cold water.

  • Is it possible to select the island to be visited during the excursion on day 2 and day 4?

Island visits for these days are determined by the Galapagos National Park and depend on availability and daily operating permits. While we do take preferences into account, final assignments are subject to park regulations and logistics.
