Humantay Lake Full Day Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Humantay Lagoon

Pick up in Cuzco

We get up early to make the most of the day, at 4:30 am our guide will pick us up at our hotel. Together with the rest of the group, we will travel by minibus to Soraypampa from Cusco, where our hike will begin. 

Although, after two hours of travel, we will make a stop in Mollepata to share breakfast with the rest of the group and get strength for what awaits us.

Ascent to Humantay

We arrive at Soraypampa sky camp, at 3900 meters above sea level. From here we begin the ascent of 300 meters to the Humantay Lake. After approximately 90 minutes walking, we will finally arrive at our destination.

Humantay Lagoon

At the lake, we will have free time to rest and explore the area. From here we will be able to admire the Humantay glacier, which feeds the lagoon. When we have regained our strength, we will begin the descent back to Soraypampa embraced by the Vilcabamba mountain range in the background.

Soraypampa Sky Camp

Once in Soraypampa, we will be able to visit the trail and the Salkantay mountain, with a height of 6251 meters. After this short expedition, we return to Soraypampa to share a buffet lunch before heading back to Cuzco, where our Humantay Lake Full Day will come to an end.

    The journey to Soraypampa from Cuzco by minibus takes 120 kilometers in approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes.

  • How difficult is the Laguna Humantay Day Trip?

    The difficulty of this trek is medium to high. We recommend having experience in mountain hikes and a good physical condition, as some trails can be more complicated.

  • Will the tour be suspended due to rain?

    The tour is not suspended due to rain. Due to the climate of the area, it is likely to rain on the day of the tour, especially if you travel during the rainy season (November to April in Cuzco). Likewise, in case of heavy rains or any weather alert that does not allow the activity to be carried out under the necessary safety measures, the session will be suspended and a change of date or a refund will be offered.

  • How does the pickup works?

    The tour includes pickup from your accommodation, located in the metropolitan area of Cuzco. If your accommodation is not within the pick-up perimeter, we will indicate a nearby meeting point to pick you up. Remember to indicate the name and address of your accommodation in the booking form in order to coordinate the pickup.
