The astronomical tour is a simple and easy to understand activity for all astrotourism lovers. No previous knowledge of astrology is required.

If you pick up the extra Transport to and from your accommodation, pick-up will take place between 20:00 and 20:30 in the main hotels on La Palma:

Los Cancajos - Hotel Taburiente (BUS Stop): 20:15h
Puerto Naos - Hotel Sol: 20:30h

In this night tour we take you to the Astronomical Viewpoint of Llano del Jable. Prepare some warmth, and climb with us to 1341 meters above sea level, tonight you will discover the sky of La Palma by the hand of our team of professional guides Starlight.

The astronomical tour is a simple and easy to understand activity for all astrotourism lovers. Tonight we will be amateurs sharing the same hobby: observing the stars on La Palma. If you select the extra Transport from and to your accommodation, the activity will start with the pick up at your hotel. The private transport will start its tour outside the main hotels on La Palma at 8:00 p.m.

Viewpoint Llano del Jable

Once the whole group is reunited, around 8:30 p.m. we will go to the Astronomical Viewpoint of Llano del Jable. If you have not included the extra pick-up point in your booking, this is where we will meet. And now that we're all here, let's start! The Viewpoint is located in the village of El Paso, at an altitude of 1341 meters. From there, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Aridane Valley.

Stargazing experience

The Llano del Jable represents a special place for night-time observation of the sky. The clouds stay below 1300 meters, covering the already low light pollution of the valley. So from there you will contemplate a wonderful starry sky over a sea of clouds.

This viewpoint has an indicator pole that points to the North Star. Thanks to our different CELESTRON 800 XLT telescopes and the team of Starlight Guides that will accompany us, you will discover the sky of La Palma and all its secrets. The skies in La Palma are clear and with very little light pollution so you will find yourself in front of a totally dark sky. The idyllic setting to see the stars in Spain. Visible planets, galaxies, nebulae and star clusters among others. Always from an amateur point of view and in a very simple and pleasant way for you to enjoy this astronomical tour.

After making the most of these 90 minutes of astronomical observation, we will also have time to take some night photographs. You will pose with the stars of La Palma in the background helped by our guides. After the observation, we will return to the comfort of our hotels in our private transport. What to bring to Stargazing tour La Palma

The Canary Islands are known for having a pleasantly warm climate most of the year. But we must not forget that the stargazing on La Palma will be done in the open air and at an altitude of more than 1000 meters. So it is important that you come with warm clothes. We also recommend you to bring:
  • ID card or passport
  • Camera
  • Comfortable shoes and clothes
  • Water
  • Warm clothing

Where does the tour Stargazing tour La Palma start

Astronomical Viewpoint of Llano del Jable If you are coming from Santa Cruz de La Palma, take the LP-3 road towards El Paso. After the La Cumbre tunnel you will see a sign indicating Mirador Astronómico. Take the exit and continue on the LP-301 mountain road for about 6 km until you reach the viewpoint. If you are coming from Los Llanos de Aridane, take the LP-3 road towards Santa Cruz de La Palma. After passing the Caldera de Taburiente Visitor Centre, you will find a detour indicating "Zonas Recreativas - El Pilar". Then follow the mountain road LP-301 for about 6 km and you will reach the viewpoint.

Questions & Answers

I'm staying in Los Cangajos, where will the minibus pick me up?
If you are staying in Los Cangajos, the meeting point will be the closest bus stop to the only pharmacy in this area of La Palma. It will take you no more than 5 minutes to get there on foot from your hotel! All the hotels, (like the Hotel H10 Taburiente Playa, Hacienda San Jorge or Las Olas among others) are at this distance from the bus stop.

I am staying in Puerto Naos, what is the meeting point with the minibus in this area of La Palma?
If your accommodation is in Puerto Naos, we will pick you up at the bus stop of the Hotel Sol. You will find the bus stop on the main road, only 3 minutes walk from the hotel. Another meeting point you will have in this area will be the entry roundabout to Puerto Naos.

I'm staying in Fuencaliente at the Princess Hotel. What's my meeting point with the minibus?
If you are staying at the Hotel Teneguía Princess, we will pick you up at the same bus stop in front of the same hotel.

My accommodation is not on the pick-up route, where will be my meeting point with the minibus?
If you are not staying in these areas of the island, or in any of the hotels, please contact us at and we will indicate a nearby meeting point for your pick-up. Remember that to include the pick-up service you have to add the extra Transport from and to your accommodation in your reservation.
