This Surf Camp is aimed to beginners with some experience. It is important to have previously taken a surfing course with another school and be in good physical shape. It is not recommended for people who are not used to doing any sport activity frequently.

The free use of the surf equipment of the school can be requested only during the hired days of lessons and from the third day of class. You will be able to enjoy it once the class is over and until the school closes.
The order of the visits could be altered, but it will not affect the content of the program. The schedules of the tickets and transports could be subject to modifications.
This activity includes the appropriate protection measures to ensure your safety. In addition, our excursions are outdoor and in small groups to reduce the risk of contagion. Remember to follow the instructions of the staff during the development of the excursion.

How the Surf Camp experience will be

The Intensive Surf Camp is conceived for beginners with some experience. It is important that you have already done some surfing course with another school and that you are physically used to do some sport activity. During your stay in Famara, you will learn the rules of priority on the water, the safety measures to be respected and the different techniques to be used for surfing from qualified instructors.

You will be able to choose the time of your stay that best suits your plans. From 3 to 7 days learning everything you need to know about surfing techniques to be able to catch waves like an expert. Surf lessons schedule

This intensive surfing course is offered all year round from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. we will carry out the theoretical and practical lessons on the beach. At 12:30 p.m. we'll have a lunch break, it is important to recover before returning to the water. The staff will take your picnic to the area where you will be during the day so you only have to worry about surfing.

With the batteries charged, we will start the surfing session on our own under the supervision of your instructor. Enjoying once again the waves of Famara from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Famara beach is made up of 5 kilometers of dunes, fine sand, and clean waters. This idyllic landscape will accompany you throughout your stay, starting in the village Caleta de Famara and ending at the foot of the Risco mountain.

Extra bonus!

Didn't you have enough sea? Don’t worry! From the third day of class, once your instructor considers that you already have the necessary knowledge to surf on your own, you can use the school's surfing equipment. Enjoy the last hours of sunshine applying on the board everything you have learned these days.

During your stay, you will lodge with other surfers in the Surf House located in the natural reserve of Famara. A unique rural setting 100 meters from the beach, with views of the island of La Graciosa. A house of 250m2 equipped with all the necessary benefits and services that you will share with people of different nationalities. A meeting place for wave lovers, where your other family is waiting for you: the surfer.

The Surf House is prepared for you to enjoy all the common areas, kitchen, barbecue and sun terrace just 100 meters from the water. This program includes accommodation in a shared room. In Lanzarote we find waves famous for their great size, which we can enjoy especially from September to the end of February. For surf beginners, Famara awaits us with good waves all year round.

What to bring to Lanzarote intensive Surf Camp

The Canary Islands are known for their pleasantly warm climate during most of the year. But we don't have to forget that the temperature on Lanzarote drops a bit at night, especially from November to mid-June so we recommend that you always come with something warm in your backpack. To enjoy this experience as much as possible, don't forget to bring your own:
  • Sunscreen
  • Full-screen face protector (you can use "zinc cream" only for sensitive areas such as nose; lips and cheeks)
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunhat
  • Beach towel
  • Earplugs (if you need them)
  • Swimsuit to be worn underneath the wetsuit
  • Flip flops

Questions & Answers

Can I join the intensive Surf Camp Lanzarote all year round?
Yes, the Intensive Surf Camp is available all year round. Although we recommend it during the months of July to January, as the rest of the months are when it is coldest in Lanzarote.

If you are planning to come to the island in winter or spring, we recommend you to have a look at the Surf Camp Lanzarote initiation. With this experience, you will be able to progress equally in your technique, with the latest technology in equipment designed to facilitate the progression to surfing and without being cold, since part of the learning is done out of the water.

I have never taken surfing lessons, can I join the Intensive Surf Camp?
No, if you have never taken surfing lessons you can not do the Intensive Surf Camp. This Surf Camp is offered only for beginners with some experience. It is important that you have already taken some surfing lessons with another school and that you are physically used to doing some sport activity.

What time does the sun set in Caleta de Famara?
From November in Lanzarote it gets dark at 6:30 p.m. As the months go by it gets dark a little bit later. If you come in summer you can enjoy the sun on the beach until it sets around 9:30 p.m.

Is there a minimum age for the Intensive Surf Camp?
No, there is no minimum age for the Intensive Surf Camp. If you are under 18 or traveling with a minor in your group, you will have to present written consent from your parents or guardians in order to enjoy the activity.
