Tour itinerary
Death Valley from Las Vegas
Las Vegas to Death Valley
The Death Valley tour from Las Vegas will start from your hotel in Las Vegas. The minibus will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. where you will be greeted and checked in by your tour guide. The drive to Death Valley National Park begins! During the drive, your guide will inform you about what to expect in Death Valley, as well as some historical information about the area. As soon as you arrive in Death Valley, it will be time to take a unique photo on your trip to Las Vegas: “I am dead in Death Valley” is stated on the welcome sign. Will yours be the most original?
Dante’s view and Zabriskie Point
The first stops on the Death Valley tour from Las Vegas: Dante’s View and Zabriskie point. Explore each location and experience the breathtaking views and unusual landscape. Zabriskie Point is part of the Amargosa Range and is unique due to its erosional landscape. Dante’s View is a terrace viewpoint that sits 5,476 feet (1669 meters) above the desert floor. It is located on the north side of Coffin Peak and overlooks the floor of Death Valley. It's breathtaking!
Death Valley Artist’s Palatte
The Artist’s Palette of Death Valley National Park is sensational due to the many colors of the rocks. The colors are due to the oxidation of different metals. The colors red, yellow, and pink are made out of iron salts and green is made out of decomposing mica. You will even find purple elements!
Badwater Basin Salt Flat
Death Valley tour from Las Vegas will continue to the next stop: Badwater Basin. The area that contains the lowest elevation point in North America at 282 feet (85 meters) below sea level. Get your camera and take a photo of the mountain behind you that shows the actual point of sea level.
Lunch - Furnace Creek Visitor Center
In the middle of the day, it will be time to enjoy our lunch and to get some refreshments at our Creek Visitor Center. The Furnace Creek Visitor Center is an oasis in the desert, with many cool areas to relax and take in the sites. What a treat! Take a picture in front of the sign which contains the world-record temperature: 134 °F/ 57 ºC. Don't worry, during our Death Valley tour from Las Vegas the thermometer won't reach that temperature.
Devil’s Golf Course
After this refreshing break, we will continue our journey to one of our last stops: the “Devil’s Golf Course”. A brief off-road trip will bring us to an area that provides some of the most unique photographs in the world: salt formations take on the appearance of snow on the desert floor. Venture out into the salt-flat, and notice that the formations are very solid and hard, even though they are delicate in appearance!
