Pick up in El Calafate
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate around 7:30 a.m. to begin the journey to El Chaltén. Along the way, you’ll stop at Estancia La Leona, where you can enjoy breakfast. We highly recommend trying one of their delicious homemade cakes.
As you travel, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the mountains, including Cerro Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre, and the impressive Viedma Glacier.

Viewpoint of the Condors and Chorrillo del Salto
Upon arrival in El Chaltén, you’ll hike a short trail (just over 2,300 feet / 700 meters) to the Mirador de los Cóndores. With a gentle incline, this path offers spectacular panoramic views of the town and surrounding peaks.
Next, you’ll visit Chorrillo del Salto, following a flat trail of about 1,600 feet (500 meters) through the forest to reach this picturesque waterfall.

Lunch in El Chaltén
Around 2:00 p.m., you’ll gather with your group for lunch at a local restaurant. A vegetarian option is available. After lunch, enjoy some free time to sip a coffee or explore the village at your own pace.

Return to El Calafate
At approximately 4:00 p.m., the group will meet up to begin the return journey to El Calafate. Although your Full-Day Chaltén Tour is coming to an end, you’ll still be able to enjoy more of Patagonia’s stunning landscapes on the drive back.
Arrival at your hotel is expected around 7:00 p.m.

The weather in Southern Patagonia is very unstable: you can experience all four seasons in a single day! Therefore, it is essential to be well prepared to make the most of your experience.
Recommended clothing:
- Adequate clothing for outdoor activities and trekking, ideally waterproof and quick-drying.
- Comfortable and resistant footwear, trekking type.
- Waterproof jacket or windbreaker
- Additional layer, such as a fleece or polar fleece lining

Yes, in fact, children under 11 years old have a special price. It is an easy walking tour, so it is ideal for the whole family.
Are the hikes difficult?
No. To reach Mirador de los Cóndores, you’ll walk a little over 700 meters (about 2,300 feet) with some elevation gain. The trail to Chorrillo del Salto is completely flat and around 300 meters (roughly 1,000 feet) long. Throughout the visit, you'll be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide.
Does the tour include breakfast?
Breakfast at Estancia La Leona is not included and is completely optional. On the other hand, you can select as an extra a lunch that you can eat whenever you want during the trip.What is included in the lunch during the tour and is there a vegetarian option?
Lunch is included and takes place in a local restaurant in El Chaltén. You will be able to choose from a variety of main dishes, such as:
- Lentils, Vegetarian lentils, Locro, Grilled chicken with garnish, Lamb stew with garnish, Milanesa with garnish, Suprema with garnish.
- Vegetable cannelloni with sauce (filetto, white or mixed sauce).
