In the Full Day tour to El Chalten you will have the opportunity to discover the town of El Chalten, located in the mountains of Argentina and known as the National Capital of Trekking. This tour is perfect for travelers who want to get to know El Chalten and its nature without doing long trekking routes. A guided tour, in which you will visit Chorrillo del Salto and Mirador de los Condores and, if you include the extra, you will have lunch in one of the restaurants in town.

Chaltén Day Trip
Duration: 10:30 hours
Pick up in El Calafate
The guide will pick you up at your hotel in El Calafate around 7:30 a.m. and start the trip to El Chaltén. On the way, the driver will make a stop at Estancia La Leona where you can have breakfast and go to the bathroom. We recommend you try one of their delicious homemade cakes.
During the trip you will have incredible views of mountainous landscapes such as Cerro Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre and also the Viedma Glacier.
Mirador de los Cóndores y Chorrillo del Salto.
Arriving at El Chalten we start the route to the Mirador de los Condores, a route of just over 700 meters with little slope, which will offer you incredible views of the entire town and its surroundings. The tour continues with a visit to Chorrillo del Salto, a route of less than 500 meters without any slope.
Lunch in El Chalten (optional)
Around 2:00 pm, if you have included the extra "lunch" you will head out with the rest of the group to have lunch at one of the restaurants in the village (vegetarian option available). After lunch, you will have free time to have a coffee in the village and get to know it at your own pace.
Return to El Calafate
Around 4:00 p.m. you will meet up with the rest of the group to begin the return trip to El Calafate. The Full Day Chaltén will have come to an end, but you will still be able to enjoy the Argentine landscape on the way back. You will arrive at approximately 7:00 p.m. at your accommodation in El Calafate.

Where does the tour El Chaltén Day Trip start
The city of El Calafate is located 3,000 km from Buenos Aires, and 325 km from the city of Río Gallegos, capital of the province of Santa Cruz. The airport has direct daily connections with Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Bariloche, Trelew, Cordoba and Rosario. Several airlines operate this route, being Aerolineas Argentinas the most frequent one. From Howlanders we also recommend you to check LADE airline.
If you want to arrive by land you can do it by bus. The trip between Buenos Aires and El Calafate takes about 36 hours. From Río Gallegos, the trip takes 4 hours. If you come from Puerto Natales we recommend you to take a bus that arrives to El Calafate in about five hours or hire a private service with us. Finally, if you are traveling from Ushuaia, please check the waiting times due to the crossing of the Strait of Magellan or stopover in Rio Gallegos.
