At the scheduled time we will meet at the meeting point. There you will board a minibus that in half an hour will leave you at the beginning of the El Pilar trail, where your self-guided trekking route starts at the base of Mount Fitz Roy.
You will walk for about an hour and a half along the Rio Blanco until you reach the Piedras Blancas Glacier viewpoint where you will be able to appreciate incredible views in the middle of nature.
Then, you will head to the well marked fork to begin the ascent to the Laguna de los Tres. The climbing time depends on the condition and physical demand of each person but you can estimate between an hour and a half and two hours. Keep in mind that the path is uphill and on cobblestone terrain so it is important that you advance quietly and with appropriate footwear.
Once you arrive at Laguna de los Tres, you can rest and have a snack before descending to base camp for dinner and the rest of the night.
💙 Howlanders tip: when you have reached the Laguna de los Tres, we advise you to head towards the mound you will see less than 5 minutes away that overlooks a second lagoon called "Laguna Sucia". Both are very worthwhile.
