Briefing

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon Kayak Tour is one of the most popular ways to explore the stunning Jökulsárlón Lagoon. From the peace and quiet of your kayak, you’ll venture into the lagoon accompanied by a guide who will share fascinating facts about everything around you. You’ll paddle among icebergs that have broken off from the glacier wall and, if you’re lucky, spot some of the seals that inhabit the lagoon. No previous kayaking experience is needed, as your guide will teach you how to use the kayak safely. Plus, all necessary equipment is included, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

If you’d prefer to enjoy kayaking in a less-visited glacier lagoon or this tour is fully booked, we recommend the Heinabergslón Glacier Lagoon Kayak Tour.

Kayaking in Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon

The guide will give a short explanation on how to use the kayak, help us get into the water and together we will start paddling in these glacial waters without getting wet, as we will be equipped with a dry suit. We will move among floating icebergs and see the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier from a unique angle.

The guide will help us take good pictures, explain the area and we will have time to simply enjoy the environment while floating surrounded by small icebergs and wildlife.

After an hour in the glacial lagoon, it is time to return to land. We will return the equipment, use the changing rooms to change and say goodbye to the guide and the group, putting an end to this unique adventure.
