During this four day tour you will explore the Manu National Park, which is divided into 3 zones: the cultural zone, the reserved zone and the intangible zone. In this tour you will access the cultural area. The Manu is a World Biosphere Reserve and is a true natural paradise that is home to great biological diversity, including endangered species such as the giant river otter, the black caiman, the jaguar and the curious spectacled bear. You will visit different ecosystems such as the Andean, the Andean high, the tropical and subtropical, observing nature in a unique experience that we can hardly forget.

Tour itinerary

todayDAY 1: Cusco - Andes - Cloud Forest

Accommodation: Orquídeas de San Pedro hostel
The guide will pick you up at our hotel between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM and you will start on your way by a road that runs through beautiful landscapes of inter-Andean valleys and local communities. You will visit the beautiful colonial town of Paucartambo, its pictures main square is considered a historical monument of Peru.
You will continue on the route and will take a stop to eat, heading towards the Cloud Forest. This beautiful place is home to numerous endemic species, such as the spectacled bear and the cock of the rocks, declared a national bird of Peru. In addition, the environment of the place is also spectacular, you can find there orchids, bromeliads, ferns among other species of plants.
After being fascinated by these incredible landscapes you will continue on the path to our Orquídeas de San Pedro hostel, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

todayDAY 2: Cloud Forest - Erika Lodge

Accommodation: Private Reserve Erika
Day two you will get up early to try to see in action the curious Cock of the Rocks and their morning ritual, where they meet males and females and they dance for them, getting a couple with whom they will spend the day.
After this morning adventure you will have breakfast and continue on our way to the town of Pilcopata. If you want you can make a 1 hour canoe ride along the rivers Koñeq or the high Madre de Dios without any additional cost, taking advantage of refreshment while enjoying the landscape.
Then in Atalaya port we will begin the descent by boat from where you will have the chance to see incredible species of birds such as vultures, cormorants and herons. You will arrive at the Private Reserve "Erika" and walk until we reach the hostel where you will spend the night, a place that allows us to enjoy the contrasts between the high jungle and the low jungle.

todayDAY 3: Erika Lodge

Accommodation: Private Reserve Erika
On day three you will get up early, have breakfast, and start a hike in which we will enjoy the incredible diversity and wildlife that surrounds you. You will board the boat to cross the river and continue with the walk, during which the guide will show you the interesting plant-life that grows in the place. Once you get to the Machuwasi lagoon you will take the canoes from where you can observe the hoatzin, monkeys, capybaras and even alligators.
Those who want to release adrenaline can make a tour from the aerial platforms and with the help of harnesses go from tree to tree, to the final phase in which you will rappel down from 15 meters high.
You will return to the lodge to rest and after dinner you will make a nocturnal walk in which you will be able to observe the night life of the forest. They are full of sounds and different insects and amphibians among others.

todayDAY 4: Erika lodge - Cusco

On the final day you will get up very early. After breakfast you will go by boat to the Collpa of the parrots, a clay wall where many different species of birds, especially macaws come to scratch their salts and minerals. It is an eating location for them, making it a perfect point of observation.
After enjoying this colorful place you will return to the lodge Erika to pick up your luggage and head towards the Port of Atalaya. Here the bus will be waiting to take you back to Cuzco, thus ending your tour in the Manu.

Where does the tour Manu National Park start

Cuzco is the main tourist city of Peru and is very well connected. If you plan to arrive from Lima, you can get to Cuzco by bus (24 hour trip) or take a one hour flight. You can choose between low cost airlines like Peruvian Airlines, LCP or StarPeru or full-service airlines like Latam and Avianca. If you plan to arrive from Arequipa the bus ride to Cuzco will roughly takes ten hours. Alternatively you can also arrive by plane, in this case, however, the only airline that offers direct flights is Latam Airlines. If you plan to arrive from Puno, the best option is to take a bus on a a six hour trip. We also offer the possibility to take a tourist bus route that stops in the most important places and landmarks along the way, leaving Puno at 7:00 am and arriving at Cuzco at 5:30 pm.
