DAY 1

Lodging: Orquídeas de San Pedro Lodge

Departure from Cuzco and Paucartambo

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. to begin your Manu National Park 4-Day Tour from Cusco.

We will travel by road through the stunning landscapes of the Andean valleys and traditional local communities. Along the way, we will visit the beautiful colonial town of Paucartambo and its picturesque main square, recognized as a Historical Monument of Peru.

Cloud Forest and San Pedro Orchids.

We will continue our journey and stop along the way for lunch. Our next destination is the Cloud Forest, a unique ecosystem home to a wide variety of endemic species, including the Andean cock-of-the-rock, Peru’s national bird.

After enjoying these incredible landscapes, we will continue to the Orquídeas de San Pedro Lodge, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

DAY 2

Lodging: Erika Lodge

Cock of the Rock, Koñeq and upper Madre de Dios rivers.

On this day, we will wake up early to observe the Andean cock-of-the-rock performing its remarkable courtship dance. After this natural spectacle, we will have breakfast and continue our journey to Pilcopata.

As a free and optional activity, you may enjoy a one-hour canoeing experience on the Koñeq and upper Madre de Dios rivers. Are you going to miss it?

Puerto Atalaya and Erika Lodge

Afterwards, in Puerto Atalaya, you will begin a boat descent, during which you will have the opportunity to observe incredible bird species such as vultures, cormorants, and herons.

You will then arrive at the “Erika” Private Reserve and take a short walk to the lodge, where you will spend the night.

DAY 3

Lodging: Erika Lodge

Machuwasi Lagoon

After an early breakfast, we will begin a hike through Manu National Park. We will board a boat to cross the river and continue our walk while the guide introduces us to the region’s fascinating native flora.

We will arrive at Machuwasi Lagoon, where we will board canoes to observe wildlife such as the hoatzin bird, monkeys, capybaras, and even caimans.

Return to Erika Lodge and night walk.

After dinner, we will take a night walk to discover the jungle after dark, when it comes alive with sounds and activity. During this experience, we may observe a variety of insects, amphibians, and other nocturnal wildlife.

DAY 4

Parrot Clay Lick

We will start our last day with an early breakfast and then take the boat that will take us to the parrots clay lick. We will see a clay wall where parrots come to scratch their salts and minerals.

Return to Cusco

We will return to Erika Lodge to collect our belongings and continue to Puerto Atalaya, marking the end of our Manu National Park 4-Day Tour.

From there, we will board our transport back to Cusco.
