DAY 1

Lodging: Orquídeas de San Pedro Lodge

Pick up in Cuzco and Paucartambo

The guide will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. We will begin our journey to Manu National Park, crossing scenic Andean valleys and traditional rural communities.

Along the way, we will visit the Chullpas de Ninamarca, pre-Inca funerary towers of the Lupaca culture, belonging to the Aymara cultural area linked to the surroundings of Lake Titicaca. Later, we will arrive in Paucartambo, a charming colonial town, where you will also have the opportunity to visit its interesting museum before continuing toward the jungle.

We will continue our route and stop along the way for lunch.

Cloud Forest and overnight at Orquídeas de San Pedro Lodge.

We will continue to the Cloud Forest, home to numerous endemic species such as the spectacled bear and the cock of the rock, the national bird of Peru. The flora is also spectacular, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, among other plant species. After enjoying these incredible landscapes we will continue our way to our lodge Orquídeas de San Pedro, where we will enjoy dinner and where we will spend the first night.

DAY 2

Lodging: Erika Private Reserve

We will get up early to try to see the Cock of the Rock in their morning ritual, males and females gather and they dance for them. After this, we will have breakfast and set course to the village of Pilcopata.

Here, we have the option to enjoy an hour and a half canoeing and swimming on the Koñeq or upper Madre de Dios rivers.

Puerto Atalaya, Machuwasi Lake and overnight at Erika Lodge.

Early in the morning we will look for the national bird of Peru, the Rupicola Peruvianus or Cock of the Rock, which will perform its unique courtship ritual. After breakfast we will continue our descent through dense forests until we reach Pilcopata and then the port of Atalaya, on the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River. From there we will start the descent by motor boat, observing birds such as herons, vultures and cormorants, until we reach the "Erika" Private Reserve, where we will spend the second night.

After lunch we will visit Machuwasi Lake, where we will paddle in a catamaran to observe birds such as the Hoatzin, as well as monkeys, capybaras and other species. Later we will walk along trails in search of flora and fauna, and in the evening we will take a night walk to observe insects and amphibians typical of the jungle.

DAY 3

Parrot Clay Lick

On our last day we will also get up early and after breakfast we will take the boat to Collpa de los Loros. This is a clay wall where different species of birds, especially macaws, come to scratch their salts and minerals.

Return to Cuzco

After enjoying this colorful scenery, we will return to the lodge, pick up our luggage and head towards the port of Atalaya. The bus will be waiting for us, which will take us back to Cuzco, ending the Manu National Park 3-Day Tour.
