During the 3 days Iquitos Jungle Trip you will discover the Peruvian Amazon. Lodged in front of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, you will learn the secrets of the jungle. The lodge is part of a rural community-based tourism project and is run by a native community. When booking this tour, you will support the local Amazonian community while discovering the jungle in a genuine and unique way

Important information
🏨 Hotel pick-up: the pick-up will be between 8 and 10 a.m. (the exact pick-up time will be confirmed a few days before the tour starts).
🛬 Airport pick-up: the guide will be waiting for you at the airport when you land. For logistical reasons, you may wait together up to a maximum of 60 minutes to pick up other travelers.
🪫The lodge has electricity from 6 to 9 pm.

Free cancellation! You can cancel this tour and you'll receive 100% refund of the amount paid if you cancel more than 72 hours in advance. After this time, or in case you do not show up, no refunds will be given.
Tour itinerary
DAY 1 City of Iquitos - Transfer to the jungle lodge
Pick up in the city of Iquitos
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel or at the airport in the city of Iquitos at the indicated time.
If you prefer the guide to pick you up at the airport, remember to indicate your flight details and arrival time when booking.
Transfer to the lodge
In the company of your guide and other travelers, you will head to Nauta on a 2-hour drive by road. Once there, you will take the boat that will take you to the lodge, located on the banks of the Ucayali River, in front of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. On the way you will pass the point where the Ucayali River and the Marañon River meet, considered the birthplace of the Amazon River.
Take advantage of the boat ride (about 3 hours long) to discover all the activities you can do in the Iquitos Jungle and plan your itinerary with the guide.
*During the trip between Iquitos and the Lodge you will share transportation with other travelers. The rest of the tour is in private service.
Arrival at Iquitos Jungle Lodge
After a 3-hour boat ride, you will arrive at the lodge. You will settle into your private room and after lunch, the Amazon adventure begins!
🐬 Swim with pink dolphins.
We will take advantage of the afternoon to take a boat ride, enjoy the sunset, and swim close to the pink dolphins. We will return to the lodge for dinner and in the evening we will go on an expedition in search of nocturnal animals.
DAY 2 Iquitos Jungle
🌿 Jungle walk
After having breakfast and getting our strength back, we will start our second day in Iquitos with a jungle walk. You will be able to appreciate firsthand the spectacular nature of the Amazon while the guide explains everything our eyes see.
🐒 Bird and monkey watching
We will return to the lodge for lunch, you will have time to rest and later we will go out by boat for bird watching. We will approach an area where we will see monkeys, if we are lucky, some will even approach the boat to say hello!
🐊 Night boat expedition to see caimans
We will return to the lodge to enjoy a relaxing dinner and then we will have the chance to go out in the boats to look for caimans with our flashlights and see in the darkness of the night the reflection of their bright and lively eyes. Quite an adventure!
DAY 3 Iquitos jungle - Return to the city of Iquitos
🎣 Piranha fishing
After breakfast at the lodge, we will leave once again with the boats to continue discovering the Iquitos jungle. Today we will have ahead of us a unique activity that you can only do in the Amazon: fishing for piranhas. On the way back, we will be able to see the impressive Amazonian Victorias, known as the giant water lilies.
📍 Return to Iquitos city
We will return to the lodge for lunch, pick up our luggage and at 2:00 PM we will head to Iquitos in the boat with the guide. You will be able to choose where you want the transportation to take you. Either to your accommodation in the city of Iquitos or to the airport to take your flight back.

Where does the tour Iquitos Jungle Trip start
The most comfortable and safe way to reach Iquitos is by plane since it is not connected to the road network of the rest of the country. The majority of travelers arrive from Lima, where several airlines operate. Latam airline, however, is the only one that offers direct flights between Cusco and Iquitos.
