⏰ DEPARTURE: The tour has several daily departures at different times. The exact departure time of your tour will be confirmed by whatsapp the day before, starting at 6:00 P.M.

Perito Moreno Glacier Tour Safari Azul

Pick up in El Calafate

The Perito Moreno Glacier tour will start with the pick up from your accommodation in El Calafate at 6:30 A.M. Once the whole group is all together, you will head to Los Glaciares National Park. 


Embarkation at Puerto Bajo Las Sombras

Once here, you will take a boat across Lago Rico. After sailing for about 20 minutes, you will disembark on the opposite shore of the glacier.

Hike along the opposite coast of the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Start the hike, always with the south face of the glacier. Be careful! There may be some ice detachment. Take out your camera and photograph that image of intense and varied blues and whites and the shapes of the glacier. 

⚠ The hike lasts an hour and a half through a natural terrain of sand and stones with some slopes and stairs.

Perito Moreno Footbridges

Once at the port, you will take the bus to the Perito Moreno walkways. Take advantage of these two hours to have lunch and enjoy the incredible panoramic view of the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Return to El Calafate

After having spent the day seeing the glacier, you will take the bus back to El Calafate. Perito Moreno Glacier Tour Safari Azul will come to an end around 9:00 P.M.

Where does the tour Perito Moreno Glacier Tour Safari Azul start

The city of El Calafate is located 3,000 km from Buenos Aires, and 325 km from the city of Río Gallegos, capital of the province of Santa Cruz. The airport has direct daily connections with Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Bariloche, Trelew, Cordoba and Rosario. Several airlines operate this route, being Aerolineas Argentinas the most frequent one. From Howlanders we also recommend you to check LADE airline. 

If you want to arrive by land you can do it by bus. The trip between Buenos Aires and El Calafate takes about 36 hours. From Río Gallegos, the trip takes 4 hours. If you come from Puerto Natales we recommend you to take a bus that arrives to El Calafate in about five hours or hire a private service with us. Finally, if you are traveling from Ushuaia, please check the waiting times due to the crossing of the Strait of Magellan or stopover in Rio Gallegos.
