You’ll enter the park through the Laguna Amarga entrance and continue to the Sarmiento Gate, where your first hike of the day begins. This route crosses landscapes that inspired explorers like Lady Florence Dixie, who described the beauty of these lands over 140 years ago.

Sarmiento Lake Entrance
After checking in at Laguna Amarga, you’ll continue to the Sarmiento sector to begin your first trek on the Aonikenk Trail. This low-difficulty route lasts about 2 hours and takes you across the Patagonian steppe, with the Paine Massif and its lakes in the background.

Laguna Amarga Gateway - Salto Grande Waterfall
After your hike, the minibus will be waiting to take you to the Pudeto sector, where you’ll visit the impressive Salto Grande waterfall. This 39-foot (12-meter) cascade connects Lake Nordenskjöld with Lake Pehoé.
