This tour is a sustainable whale watching tour where the whales are disturbed as little as possible. The rules for responsible whale watching are strictly followed and we only work with very experienced captains and guides.

Free cancellation! If you cancel at least 24 hours before the tour starts, you will receive 100% of the amount paid. After this time, or in case of no-show, no refunds will be given.

Ólafsvík Whale Watching
📍 Meeting point
This amazing experience starts at our meeting point at Norðurtangi 9, 355 Ólafsvík. Once the group is assembled, our guide will provide us with overalls to keep us warm and dry as we will be sailing out into an open fjord, so you need to be warm. Ready to see some whales? Here we go!
🐳 Whale watching
We will board our boat, it is a twin-engine boat which makes for smooth sailing. We will go into the sea for about 3 hours to see the diverse marine fauna. It is only possible to see orcas, sperm whales and pilot whales at the coast of Snaefellsnes. In addition to these species, we will also have the chance to see humpback whales, minke whales and white-beaked dolphins. When we see a whale, the boat will get as close as possible without disturbing the whales.
Return
After finishing our tour along the coast of the Snaefellsnes peninsula admiring these incredible mammals, we will return to the port. Once there, we will get off the boat and take off our monkeys, ending this unique experience.

When are you most likely to see killer whales?
Orcas are most likely to be seen in winter, spring and early summer, from February to early July. However, there is the possibility of seeing them during all summer months.When are we more likely to see sperm whales and pilot whales?
Sperm whales can be seen from March to June in deep waters. From July to October, it is more possible to see pilot whales in large groups.How many people are in the group?
The groups for whale watching in Ólafsvík are small, with a maximum of 60 travelers. Other tours are in larger boats with a capacity of up to 200 people.Are there special prices for travelers under 15 years old?
