Nos quedamos una sensación agridulce sobre nuestra experiencia en Puerto Maldonado. El sitio es espectacular, con una naturaleza impresionante y donde puedes vivir la selva amazonica muy de cerca. Nuestro principal problema fue con nuestro operador Carlos Expeditions. Aunque el lodge era acogedor y las actividades estaban bien programadas, nos ha tocado Anderson como guía, que práctica no daba explicaciones ni en inglés ni en español, ni sabia responder a nuestras preguntas. Además, se nos vendió un tour de 3 dias /2 noches cuando en realidad el último dia termina a las 9:00AM, por lo que te dejan un dia entero perdido en la ciudad ya que esta información nos la dijeron el mismo día de empezar (ya con el avión de vuelta comprado). Los horarios reales tampoco estan detallados en la página de Howlanders. Por estos motivos, no tenemos una opinion muy positiva del tour.

Our stay at Monte Amazonico Lodge was amazing. The lodge is beautiful, actually a lot better than expected. The pool is a real treat, and the nature that surrounds the place is beautiful. Meals are also great, especially the breakfast, you can have great coctails and the staff is also very knowledgeable. 
Just a note, that the tours are mostly shared with larger groups (40-50 people), but other than this our experience was 10/10

Desde que llegamos al aeropuerto siempre acompañados de guías expertos y de la zona, que atendían cualquier duda que tuvieras. El viaje por la selva fue alucinante, repetiría sin dudarlo. Howlanders esta formado por gente viajera, para gente viajera y eso se nota

Die Tour begann nicht am 1. Tag morgens wie in der Beschreibung angegeben, sondern erst um 13:50. Nach vorherige Absprache mit der Agentur vor Ort haben wir extra den teureren Flug frühmorgens nach Puerto Maldonado gebucht um rechtzeitig da zu sein. Da man scheinbar nicht auf das Geld von 8 Reisenden verzichten wollte, die einen späteren Flug hatten, durften alle Personen, die mit dem frühen Flug ankamen im Reisebüro warten - über 4h in unserem Fall. 
Der Besuch von Monkey Island fand entsprechend spät kurz vor der Dämmerung statt und die Affen waren alle übersättigt von den Gruppen davor. Selbst der Guide meinte, wir wären zu spät dran. Sage und schreibe 2 Affen haben wir gesehen und mit Mühe und Not konnten 2 Personen aus der Gruppe ihre Bananen verfüttern. In Gesprächen mit den anderen Besuchern der Lodge fanden wir heraus, dass deren Erlebnis erheblich anders verlief.

Leider kam als einzige Rückmeldung seitens Howlanders "Wir verstehen, dass ihre Erwartungen nicht erfüllt wurden". Unseres Erachtens nach eine maue Reaktion darauf, dass man an Tag 1 etwas völlig anderes geboten bekam, als im Reiseverlauf bzw. Programm stand und auch so gebucht und bezahlt wurde.

Die Erlebnisse an Tag 2 und dem Morgen von Tag 3 waren sehr ansprechend - aber der Ärger vom Tag zuvor hat das gesamte Erlebnis getrübt. Ist ja auch nicht ganz umsonst gewesen der Spaß und wann kommt man als Europäer schonmal in den Dschungel. Wäre schön gewesen, hätte man alles genießen können anstatt den halben Tag im Reisebüro zu versauern.

Safe and well-organized trip, I felt like a local! Fans of wildlife will be delighted for sure. Wild animals are hiding pretty often so it's not so easy to meet any, but the amazing plants I saw there at every step impressed me a lot! The food was good and the lodging was really comfy, highly recommend a trip with this company!

What an amazing experience! We really enjoyed doing the tour and we had a great adventure :)

Ha sido un viaje increíble, la comida genial, el alojamiento superior pero lo mejor fue nuestro guía Miche que nos enseñó mucho de la flora y la fauna autóctona con un sentido del humor genial.

Fantástico lugar con fantásticos profesionales. Los tres días en el Lodge Corto Maltés superaron todas nuestras expectativas. El alojamiento precioso y muy limpio,la comida riquísima y las excursiones increíbles en las que pudimos ver monos,caimanes, nutrias gigantes y guacamayos y otras aves. Sin embargo,lo mejor fue nuestro guía Miche, con un gran conocimiento de la fauna y la flora del lugar y un gran sentido del humor. Además,tuvimos la suerte de ser las dos únicas personas hispanohablantes lo que hizo que Miche estuviera solo con nosotros todo el tiempo. Gracias a Miche y sus compañeros por su profesionalidad y simpatía!

Precioso, la verdad es que una muy buena experiencia. Hemos estado en diferentes selvas del amazonas como Iquitos o Madidi Pampas en Bolivia y la verdad es que merece la pena también acercarse. Si te gustan las actividades en la selva como a mi marido y a mí es un plan perfecto! Nuestra próxima aventura que vamos a preparar será en Cuyabeno y aprovecharemos para ver  Ecuador que hemos visto que tenéis un nuevo tour, ya os contamos! (pd: si pilláis descuentos sale muy barato con Howlanders).
