Tour itinerary
DAY 1 Valldemossa
Accommodation: Es Petit Hotel de Valldemossa
Arrival to Valldemossa
The first day you can check-in at Es Petit Hotel de Valldemossa from 2:00 p.m. Valldemossa is located just half an hour from Palma de Mallorca and you can get there by car, taxi or bus.
💬🥧 Howlander's Tip
Take advantage of the afternoon to discover this small village nestled in the Tramuntana Mountains. Sit on a terrace and taste the coca de patata (typical Mallorcan sweet coca, especially popular during the popular celebrations of Valldemossa) accompanied by horchata de almendra (a drink of Spanish origin made with water, sugar, cinnamon and almonds; it is drunk very cold).

DAY 2 Trek from Valldemossa to Deia
Elevation gain ▲ 520 m. ▼720 m
Distance: 12 km
Duration: 5 hours
Accommodation: Hostal Villaverde
Valldemossa to Deia
As this is a self-guided route along the GR 221 trails, you will be the one who sets your own pace. Pack a picnic to enjoy it halfway, or calculate well the route to reach the next village for lunch. Breakfast at the hotel will be served between 3:30 and 10:30 in the morning.
And with the batteries recharged, the route to Deia will begin. This first part of the route will pass through holm oak forests, passing by old charcoal kilns and lime kilns. You will reach the summit at the top of Puig Caragolí ⛰ at 945 meters, and from there the descent will begin.

Arrival to Deia
The descent will take you straight to Deia, one of the most picturesque villages of Tramuntana. If the weather is good, leave your swimming costume at hand, and finish the route taking a dip in the Cala Deia.
This second day of the trek you will sleep at Hostal Villaverde, which you will be able to access from 14:00. A well-deserved rest 🌅.

DAY 3 Trek from Deia to Sóller - Camí dels pintors
Elevation gain ▲ 220 m. ▼280 m
Distance: 13 km
Duration: 3,5 hours
Accommodation: Hotel Sóller Plaza
Deia
On the third day you will wake up in the heart of the Tramuntana Mountains, and you will have the easiest route of this journey ahead of you, known as the Camí dels Pintors.
Breakfast at the hotel will be served between 8:15 and 10:00 in the morning.

Camí dels Pintors
Leaving Deia, the route passes through old houses dating from the 13th century until it reaches Sóller. This path of Arab descent used to serve as a link between the two Mallorcan villages.

Sóller
The best part of the way will be waiting for you at the end of the route. After 13 km you will reach the beach of Sóller. Dive in!
On this third day, you will sleep at Hotel Sóller Plaza, where you can check in from 14:00. Take advantage of the afternoon to rest and take a short walk around the village, considered the capital of the Tramuntana. The route goes on tomorrow!

DAY 4 Trek from Cúber to Sóller through Biniaraix ravine
Elevation Gain ▲ 150 m ▼800 m
Distance: 11km
Duration: 5 hours
Accommodation: Hotel Sóller Plaza
Transfer from Sóller to the Cúber reservoir
Last day walking the GR 221 trails through the Tramuntana Mountains. On the fourth day you will return to sleep in the same hotel, so you can leave some of your luggage in your room and enjoy the lighter tour.
Breakfast will be served between 8:30 and 11:30 in the morning. Afterwards, a private transport will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the Cúber reservoir, where you will start the route. Once you are in Mallorca you can arrange a pick-up time with the local operator.

Biniaraix Gorge
This last stage will run from the Cúber reservoir to the village of Sóller down the Biniaraix ravine.
This gorge is one of the most iconic landscapes of the Tramuntana Mountains, and has been declared a Public Cultural Asset. A cobbled hiking route that will put the icing on the cake. A fascinating combination of stone steps, rocks, water and wild vegetation.

Sóller
After 11 kilometres of walking and 800 metres of negative altitude difference you will arrive back in Sóller. The effort will have been worthwhile.
We encourage you to round off the last day by trying the fried eggs “Sóller style”. Its secret ingredient is an autochthonous product that cannot be missing in the Mallorcan diet. Do you know which one we are talking about? 😬
