Discover Lago del Desierto and Vespignani Reserve with the Lago del Desierto Boat Tour & Vespignani Glacier, a combination of transfer, sailing and trekking.
The experience starts with the pick up at your accommodation in El Chalten to travel by road to the southern tip of Lago del Desierto, enjoying the Patagonian landscape along the way. There you will embark to sail to the Vespignani Reserve, where you can choose between 3 self-guided trails (with different levels of difficulty) and walk at your own pace through viewpoints overlooking the Vespignani Glacier, the Huemul Glacier and the north face of Cerro Fitz Roy.
At the end of the hike, you can take a break for a small snack and recover energy before returning to the pier. Afterwards, you will return by boat to the departure pier and transfer back to El Chaltén, arriving at your accommodation at the end of the day.

Departure from El Chaltén📍
Departure starts around 11:00 am from your accommodation in El Chaltén to head to Lago del Desierto along Route 23. The drive to Punta Sur takes approximately 2 hours (37 km), where you will travel through a mountain landscape with views of the mountain range.

Arrival at Punta Sur and Navegación🛳️
Upon arrival at Punta Sur, you will embark for a 20-minute sailing to the Vespignani Reserve, from where you can see the Huemul and Vespignani glaciers and the north face of Mount Fitz Roy.

Landing at La Reserva Vespignani ⚓
Upon arrival you will find a welcome dome and a guide who will explain the available options: three self-guided trails of low, medium or high difficulty.
Treeking to Vespignani Glacier 🏔️
After choosing your route, you will have 2 hours to complete the hike. The medium and high difficulty trails offer the best panoramic views of the Vespignani Glacier and Fitz Roy.

Return to El Chaltén🚐.
At the end, you will enjoy a hot drink (coffee or chocolate) with cookies before returning by boat to Punta Sur and return by road to El Chaltén, where you will arrive around 5:30 pm.
