Tour itinerary
Rio Claro Tour
Duration: between 5 and 6 hours
Pick up at Drake Bay
At 8:00 a.m. our guide will pick you up at your accommodation in Drake Bay. After a half hour drive in our 4×4, we will arrive at one of the main forests of Costa Rica.
Jungle hike
We will take a simple hike of about two hours until we reach a waterfall in the middle of the jungle. During the walk we will be able to observe many species of monkeys, lizards, sloths and tropical birds. Once at the waterfall, it's time for a dip in the crystal clear river and enjoy the waterfall for half an hour.
Floating in the Claro River
It's time to equip yourself with the special float and descend downstream. Let yourself be carried by the gentle current of the river for an hour and a half. Relax and enjoy the scenery, the sounds of the jungle and the water of the river.
Return to Drake Bay
Our descent will end at the beach and with it our Rio Claro Tour. Before leaving, we will enjoy a hot drink and cookies. Afterwards, our private transport will take us back, following the coastline to Drake Bay. We will arrive around 1:30 p.m., the perfect time to have lunch and enjoy Costa Rican gastronomy.

The easiest way to get to Drake Bay is by car. This option is very common among travelers, since in Costa Rica it is recommended to rent a car and travel freely. The road to Drake Bay is being improved with different bridges, so depending on the route you take you will have to cross some small creek or bridges. If you travel by public transport, you will have to combine a bus with a “taxi-boat” to take you to Drake Bay.
