Pick up in Lago Agrio

Departing from Lago Agrio, we will be picked up to take us to the northeast of the province of Sucumbios, towards the rainforest. Once we arrive at El Puente, we will stop for lunch and then cross the river by canoe, finally entering the rainforest. Stay tuned because during the boat ride you will be able to discover part of the flora and fauna of Cuyabeno.

Cuyabeno lodge

We arrive at the lodge where we will be greeted with a warm welcome, we will have time to leave our luggage in the rooms and relax until dinner time. Our guide will give us a brief briefing about the lodge and what awaits us in the magnificent Cuyabeno Reserve.

Navigation and hike through the jungle

We start the day sailing through Igapó, a tropical flooded forest in the Laguna Grande. During the trip, you will enjoy the scenery formed by this unique vegetation and colorful birds. We will also take a hike through the jungle to get a closer look at the flora and fauna. We will observe different species of monkeys such as capuchins, barizos and sakis.

Sunset and night hike.

We will have lunch and rest at the Lodge, but in the afternoon, we will return to Laguna Grande. As we sail along its waters, we will be able to enjoy the beautiful sunset in Cuyabeno. Back at the lodge, we will walk around in search of the nocturnal fauna of the Amazon.

Meeting the local community

We will navigate the Cuyabeno River to learn about the life and daily activities of the local community, where we will have the opportunity to buy their handicrafts. The shaman will tell us about his experiences in the heart of the jungle and the healing rituals he performs, including an ancestral healing ceremony passed down for generations.

Siona cuisine

In the afternoon, we will meet a local Siona family, participating in the preparation of a local dish called casabe. We will see the whole process of preparation and how it is cooked in the jungle. We will return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

For this day, we will be the ones to plan the itinerary as we wish, together with the guide. The Lodge offers a variety of activities included in the price, such as hiking, swimming or paddle canoeing. We will be able to consult with the guide for advice and help us organize the best plan to make the most of the spectacular surroundings.

Return to Lago Agrio

Our Cuyabeno Jungle Tour in 5 days must come to an end, and with it our Amazon adventure. After breakfast, we will board the canoes to return from Cuyabeno to Lago Agrio. On the way back to the airport, we will also stop for lunch.
