Nærøyfjord Cruise from Bergen + Flam Railway Ticket
Duration: 10-11 hours
Daily departures all year round
Meeting in Bergen
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet up at the meeting point in Bergen to kick off an amazing tour that’ll let us explore the best of the Norwegian fjords in just one day. Get ready for narrow valleys, emerald waters, and steep hillsides—it’s gonna be breathtaking! First up, we’ll stroll over to the Bergen train station to catch a train to Vossevangen.
Discovering Gudvangen
From Vossevangen, we’ll hop on a bus and head to Gudvangen. This little town has some cool Viking history and sits right at the end of the Nærøy Fjord, which is part of the Sognefjord—also known as the Fjord of Dreams. Once we get to Gudvangen, we’ll take a trip back in time with a 30-minute guided tour of the Viking village Njardarheimr. During this tour, we’ll uncover some really interesting stuff about the Viking Age in Norway and how people lived back then.
Cruise on the Nærøyfjorden
One of the highlights of this trip is when we hop on a cruise! For two hours, we’ll kick back and enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the Nærøyfjorden, taking in the stunning beauty of one of the narrowest fjords in the world. You’ll see mountains towering over 1,700 meters high (5578 feet), tons of waterfalls, and charming little villages with wooden houses all around. It’s hard to put into words—you really have to experience it for yourself! Plus, this whole area is protected by UNESCO.
Flam Train
We will dock in Flåm and leave you 30-55 minutes free time, depending on the season, to have lunch and continue exploring the area. You can visit the Railway Museum or stroll along the harbor before starting the final leg of the tour. We will then board the Flåm Railway, one of the most impressive railway lines in the world. For 50 minutes, we will admire the Norwegian mountains and make a brief stop at the Kjosfossen waterfall to capture that special moment.
Return to Bergen
Finally, we will arrive at Myrdal station and take a regular train to Bergen. After ten hours and 30 minutes of excursion, we will conclude our activity by arriving back at Bergen train station.
