This tour is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

There is no minimum age to participate in the tour but if you come with babies under 2 years old, we ask you to take into account the low temperatures in Lapland during the winter months (November - March) and come with appropriate thermal clothing.

This tour operates all year round but in winter the influx of people is much higher so you may have to wait in line to access the Santa Claus house. Be patient because it will be well worth it :)

The tour offers the option of renting thermal clothing and snow boots that you can select as an extra at the time of booking.

Visit to Santa Claus' house in Lapland

Duration: 3 hours and a half

Pick up from accommodation and transfer to Santa Claus Village

At the scheduled time we will pick you up with a minibus from your accommodation in Rovaniemi and drive to the outskirts of Rovaniemi where the small Santa Claus village is located. This trip takes 20 minutes.

Not only does he live there, but he is accompanied by a multitude of elves and his faithful reindeer.

When we arrive the first thing we will do is to visit Santa Claus. You can spend some time with him, make wishes and give him your letter of gifts for Christmas. If you are an adult, bring out your inner child! You will love this family experience.

In addition, you will visit the post office where the elves work all year round and you can even send a postcard from there to your family and friends.

Crossing the Arctic Circle

After the visit, our guide will tell you many stories, anecdotes and curiosities about Santa Claus and the village. Did you know that Santa Claus was originally dressed in green? If you want to find out why, don't hesitate to ask the guide!

Free time in the village

Time to recharge your batteries! After lunch, you will have enough free time to visit the rest of the village, visit the local souvenir stores and interact with the reindeer that live freely there. You will be able to pet them and feed them as long as you respect the rules and guidelines given to you by the guide. These endearing animals are in charge of guiding Santa Claus through the stars on the night of December 24th. Will you be able to recognize the famous reindeer Rudolph?

Return to Rovaniemi

After the time enjoying the village, the minibus will be waiting for us to return to Rovaniemi where we will drop you back to your accommodation. You will have taken with you one of the most beautiful memories of Christmas; meeting Santa Claus in person :)

What to bring to Santa Claus Village from Rovaniemi tour

Rovaniemi is located near the Arctic Circle so it has a cold climate almost all year round reaching temperatures below zero in the winter months (November-March).

As in any Nordic climate you will need warm clothes, mainly thermal. Although the activity offers this service as an extra, here is a summary of the essentials to visit Rovaniemi at any time of the year:

  • Do you have to wait in line to get into Santa's house?

    In winter the influx of people in Rovaniemi is much higher, especially in the month of December, so it is possible that the waiting time in the queue increases compared to the rest of the year. In any case, do not worry as Santa Claus will welcome all visitors and his team of elves will be in charge of brightening up the time you spend in the queue.

  • Is it possible to visit the reindeer?

    Of course you can! Santa's reindeer will be eager to meet you and you will be able to interact with them by petting them, taking pictures and feeding them, but remember to always follow the guide's instructions to avoid any incident. The reindeer sleigh rides are subject to availability but you can ask directly in the village if it is possible to do it that day.

    Yes, before the end of the tour, you will have some time to enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch with a hot drink included, usually chocolate.
