Husky Ride Rovaniemi
Duration: 4 hours
Difficulty: no difficulty
Pick up at your accommodation and transfer to the husky farm.
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your accommodation and board a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus that will take us to the farm where the huskies are eagerly waiting to meet us. The journey will last about half an hour.
Overview and 4-mile husky sled ride.
After we arrive, our guide will provide an overview of these amazing dogs, sharing insights about their long-standing relationship with humans and some fascinating facts. Did you know that this breed howls instead of barking? You'll have the chance to pet them, play with them, and take as many pictures as you like. However, please remember that we can't feed them, as they require a specific diet to handle the cold temperatures and the energy needed for our adventures.
Next, we'll learn how to operate the sled safely for both ourselves and the dogs before setting off on our journey through the snowy trails of Lapland. The ride covers 4 miles and lasts about half an hour, offering breathtaking views that look straight out of a postcard!
Snack break and return to Rovaniemi
After the walk, you can unwind in the cozy ambiance of the "kota," a traditional Finnish fireplace hut. A warm fire will be waiting for you, along with hot drinks and homemade cookies to enjoy. You'll have the chance to spend some final moments with your new four-legged friends, getting to know their unique personalities and learning about the ancient art of husky sledding. We will conclude the tour with a transfer back to Rovaniemi, either to your accommodation or the designated meeting point, depending on your situation.
