Briefing

Discover the magic of Milford Sound at night with this Milford Sound Overnight Cruise that lets you experience the untouched beauty of Fiordland up close—one of New Zealand’s most breathtaking landscapes.

Your journey begins at the Milford Sound visitors terminal, where you’ll check in before boarding the Milford Mariner, a vessel designed to resemble a traditional cargo schooner and perfectly suited for navigating the fjords.

As the cruise gets underway, you’ll sail through the fjord past waterfalls and towering mountains until reaching a მშვიდ, sheltered cove where the ship anchors for the night. There, you can unwind or join optional activities like kayaking or small-boat excursions. Onboard, you’ll enjoy a buffet dinner prepared with fresh, local ingredients, followed by an engaging presentation from a nature guide covering the fjord’s history and wildlife. As night falls, Milford Sound becomes incredibly still and silent—a truly unique atmosphere surrounded by dramatic cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and dark, mirror-like waters.

The next morning, wake up immersed in nature and take in the sunrise while enjoying a full breakfast. As the ship makes its return journey, keep an eye out for marine wildlife before arriving back at the departure point.
