Questions & Answers

  • What is the minimum and maximum number of passengers for the Milford Sound Fly Cruise Fly?

Flights are subject to a minimum number of passengers to operate: a minimum of 2 passengers is required for Milford Sound. The fleet consists of two 7-passenger aircraft and two 13-passenger aircraft. All seating is by the window to ensure a panoramic experience.

Groups of more than 13 passengers should be split between more than one aircraft. For groups larger than 40 people, additional aircraft can be arranged.

  • Is there a maximum baggage weight per passenger?

There is no maximum weight for passenger luggage, as long as it can be comfortably placed on your lap or at your feet during the flight. Generally, you will only need a small backpack with sunscreen, a bottle of water, camera and some food.

If you wish to carry photographic equipment or a children's travel trolley, you must inform us in advance of the additional weight. Some aircraft have a small cargo compartment for these items.

  • Where can I leave my luggage during the tour?

You can leave your luggage in our office for the duration of the tour. Storage is available while you do the activity, so you can enjoy the experience more comfortably.

  • Can babies and small children travel and is it possible to take a stroller?

Infants from 0 to 2 years old under 15 kg travel for free* sitting on an adult's lap. It is recommended to use a "BabyBjörn" type baby carrier for greater safety. If one is not available, a child belt that attaches to the adult's belt is used. It is unusual for babies to cry during the flight.

In some cases there may be space to take a small stroller on the plane, although it is usually not necessary, as the tour does not involve long walks.

  • Is there a weight limit per passenger for the Milford Sound scenic flight by light aircraft?

Yes, it is necessary to ensure that aircraft operate within their maximum weight limits and with the proper center of gravity. Therefore, it is requested to indicate the weight of the passengers at the time of booking.

If any passenger weighs 140 kg or more, he/she should contact us directly before booking. If the weight declared on the reservation differs by more than 15 kg (33 lbs) from the actual weight at check-in, aircraft weight and balance limits may be exceeded, and the reservation may have to be rescheduled based on availability.

  • Is food available on the cruise?

A water, coffee and tea station is available during the cruise. Food and beverage options are also available for purchase on board at the cafe/bar. Card payments are accepted, although it is recommended to bring some cash, as coverage may be limited while cruising the fjord.

You are also welcome to bring your own takeaway food, but alcohol brought in from outside is not permitted, as this can be purchased on board.
