North Lofoten Highlights - Summer Photo Tour
Pick up at Svinøya Rorbuer or Svolvær
We’ll meet at 9:15 a.m. at Svinøya Rorbuer, or at 9:30 a.m. at either the Thon Lofoten Hotel or the tourist information office in Svolvær to start the route.
Haukland Beach
Our adventure begins at Haukland Beach, one of the most stunning beaches in Norway. With its white sand, crystal-clear waters, and surrounding mountains, it’s the perfect introduction to the wild beauty of Lofoten.

Gimsøy Island
The smallest island in the archipelago, Gimsøy offers unique landscapes and abundant natural beauty. Here you’ll discover Hoven Mountain, Hov Beach, and the charming wooden Gimsøy Church—a true seaside gem.
Tordvalhalsen
We continue along the iconic E10 route to one of the most spectacular viewpoints on the tour. From here, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Lofoten’s rugged coastline—the pure essence of the Arctic.

Rørvik Beach
A still little-known beach that’s quickly becoming a favorite among visitors to Lofoten. White sand, turquoise waters, and absolute tranquility.
Visit to the village of Henningsvær
This colorful fishing village, Henningsvær, looks like something straight out of a postcard. Stroll through its streets, soak in the harbor atmosphere, and don’t miss its famous soccer field built on a rocky island.

Vågan Church (Lofoten Cathedral) and Return to Svolvær
We end the route at Vågan Church, the largest church in northern Norway, built in 1889. It stands as a symbol of the region’s cultural heritage and provides a perfect conclusion to a day of exploration.
After visiting this final stop, we’ll return to Svolvær, where the tour concludes around 4:30 p.m.

✈️ By plane
The fastest and most comfortable way to get to Lofoten is to fly. You can do it in two steps:

- Connect with a domestic flight to Lofoten: Leknes Airport (LKN) and Svolvær Airport (SVJ).
🚢 By ferry
Another popular option is to arrive by ferry from the mainland:
- From Bodø to Moskenes: a scenic crossing of about 3-4 hours.
- There are also routes to Svolvær and other locations during high season.
🚗 By car.
You can get there by driving from northern Norway or by taking a ferry with your car:
- From Narvik (you can arrive by train from Oslo or Trondheim) and then drive to Lofoten on the E10, a stunning scenic road.

No, all stops are close to the vehicle. There are only short, easy walks from the parking point to places of interest.

No, during the summer months (June to August) there is no snow in the areas visited on this tour. Temperatures are mild and the landscapes are green, although some high peaks may still have some remaining snow. This is the best time to enjoy the midnight sun and capture Lofoten’s most vibrant landscapes.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The tour adapts to weather conditions. The guide can modify the route to make the most of the day. It is only canceled in case of extreme conditions.
