📍Pickup in Iquitos

The Tour Pacaya Samiria Full Day begins with pickup at your accommodation in Iquitos early in the morning. That’s why we recommend staying the night before departure in the city of Iquitos. The vehicle will take you to the city of Nauta on a road trip lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Let the adventure begin!

🛶 Navigation on the Marañon River

Once at the port, the local team will welcome you and we’ll board a river boat to start our adventure through the Amazonian rivers. We’ll navigate the Marañón River toward the mythical confluence of the Marañón and Ucayali rivers, known as Ucamara, where the mighty Amazon River officially begins.

In this privileged area, we’ll have the opportunity to observe charismatic river dolphins, both gray and pink, swimming freely in their natural environment.

During the tour, we’ll navigate through areas surrounding the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, such as the Yarapa River. Here, you'll have the chance to enjoy a refreshing swim in the calm and mystical black waters of the Yarapa River.

Then, on board the boat, we’ll enjoy a delicious traditional lunch from the region, with unbeatable views of the Amazonian landscape.

Later on, we’ll explore the jungle on a guided walk to search for monkeys in their natural habitat. The guide will help you spot them while teaching you about local flora and fauna.

🐟 Piranha fishing and other species

After lunch, we’ll have an authentic artisanal fishing experience using a traditional rod. With a bit of luck, you’ll catch a piranha or other species native to the area.

Next, we’ll take a short walk to admire the giant trees characteristic of the Amazon jungle, some with massive roots and centuries of age.

Return to Iquitos

After a day full of adventure, we’ll begin the return journey by river to the Nauta dock. From Nauta, we’ll once again take land transportation back to Iquitos, where the Pacaya Samiria Tour will end at your accommodation in the city.
