Cusco is not only the largest tourist hub in Peru because of its proximity to many cultural heritage sites. The city itself is living testimony of an incredibly long history. Because of this history, exploring Cusco is a great way, to get first impressions of the different cultures and influences that shaped Peru’s history and to prepare yourself for the trips to many wonders in the surrounding region, like Machu Picchu, the sacred Valley or the Rainbow Mountain. Visit the temple of Qoricancha and the archeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay.

Tour itinerary

todayCusco – Sacsayhuaman – Qenko – Puca Pucara – Tambomachay

access_time10 : 00 AM
Our tour begins at 10 AM at our hotel in Cusco. We will be picked up and brought to the tour bus, which will take us to all the stops of our tour. The first stop will be Sacsayhuaman.
Sacsayhuaman is located just 3km outside of Cusco and is the architecturally considered the most impressive citadel of the Inca. To this day, the site of Sacsayhuaman also hosts the the “Inti Raymi”, the party of the sun, on every 24th of June. From here we will continue to Qenko, which was a religious and ceremonial location for many of the Inca’s traditions.
The next stop is Puca Pucara, an old tambo, one of the ancient Incan Guardposts and rest stops along their main roads. After visiting Pucapucara, we will head to the last destination of our tour: Tambomachay. In this place, the ancient Incas worshipped the water and is known as the spring of eternal youth.
After we end our guided tour, we will visit a traditional market, where we can buy souvenirs from the local artisans. We will then end our tour at the Regocijo Square in Cusco around 1:00 p.m.

Where does the tour Cusco City Tour start

Cusco is the main tourist city of Peru and is very well connected. If you plan to arrive from Lima, you can get to Cusco by bus (24 hour trip) or take a one hour flight. You can choose between low cost airlines like Peruvian Airlines, LCP or StarPeru or full-service airlines like Latam and Avianca. If you plan to arrive from Arequipa, the bus ride to Cusco will take roughly ten hours. Alternatively you can also arrive by plane, in this case, however, the only airline that offers direct flights is Latam Airlines. If you plan to arrive from Puno, the best option is to take a bus on a six hour trip. We also offer the possibility to take a tourist bus route that stops in the most important places and landmarks along the way, leaving Puno at 7:00 AM and arriving at Cusco at 5:30 PM.
